ZenBusiness alternatives for forming an LLC (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

ZenBusiness's Premium plan costs $299 and bills the same again each year, so its plan fees reach $598 across the first and second year, and no ZenBusiness plan includes a registered agent. Bizee's Premium plan charges $299 once and includes a first year of agent service. Tailor Brands rates 8.7 on our method against ZenBusiness's 8.0, keeps 7 counted services in Elite, and links a separate sign-up for non-U.S. founders, a group on which our ZenBusiness record holds no statement.1, 2

Why do people look for a ZenBusiness alternative?

Two reasons trace to how ZenBusiness bills: the two paid plans renew every year, and the agent is always extra. A third is that our record holds no ZenBusiness statement about founders abroad.

A plan fee that comes back each year

Pro renews at $199/yr and Premium at $299/yr. Several of the alternatives below charge once. A buyer who would rather file reports alone, or pay per filing, looks at that model instead. The tier-by-tier figures are on the ZenBusiness pricing page.1

The agent is a separate purchase

A registered agent is the person or company listed with the state to accept legal papers for the LLC. ZenBusiness sells one at $199/year, cut to $99 for the first year when you form with it, then $199/yr. Some alternatives put that first year inside the plan.3, 4

Nothing published for founders outside the U.S.

Our record for ZenBusiness has no verified statement on non-U.S. founders or on getting an EIN without a Social Security number. That does not prove it turns them away. It means a founder abroad has nothing on ZenBusiness's own pages to rely on.

Support and refunds

ZenBusiness answers by phone, live chat and its AI assistant, with no email support. Its agent terms describe a refund request for one case, "If you have not yet used the Registered Agent Services", and the general terms add that for yearly plans past the opening window "no prorated refunds will be issued."5, 6

Starter's standard speed

Starter has no plan fee but states 7-10 business days, and reaching ZenBusiness's faster time costs $79 or a move to Pro.1

How do ZenBusiness alternatives compare?

ZenBusiness sits in the first row, and the alternatives follow in order of our rating, with ties in our editorial order (Tailor Brands, Bizee, ZenBusiness, then by name).

Each row shows the provider's fullest plan at or under the price cap set out in how we rate.

The cost column adds the plan's own fees for the first and second year, before state fees. It leaves out items that bill after a free period. Bizee and ZenBusiness share a rating of 8.0, and Bizee sits first on the tie rule. Use the LLC cost calculator to add your state's fee.

Which alternative fits each reason to switch?

Each alternative differs from ZenBusiness on at least one published fact. The list shows each difference, and the sections below sort them by the reason a reader might leave.

Lower plan cost across the first and second year

Every alternative comes in below $598 on its compared plan, because most charge once. Bizee's Premium is $299, and LegalZoom lists Managed Service at $249, though its advisor plan then bills $49/mo unless cancelled after the trial. Swyft Filings Standard is $199 and carries a "Trial of ComplianceGuard", after which Swyft says the card is charged $199 for a one-year subscription. Inc Authority's Free LLC costs $0 and Northwest $39 + state fees. Tailor Brands Elite bills yearly too, yet totals $498. The list ordered by plan cost for the first and second year and ZenBusiness vs Bizee carry every figure.7, 8, 9

A registered agent inside the price

Bizee's Premium lists a registered agent (1st year included), then $149/year. Inc Authority includes a first year and renews at $249/yr. Northwest lists its agent as free for first year, and the price after that first year appears on the Northwest review. doola states "Registered Agent is free with doola’s Formation Service" without saying for how long. Against ZenBusiness's $99 first year, each of these removes one charge from year one. The registered agent included list and ZenBusiness vs Northwest set the terms side by side.4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13

Founders outside the United States

Of the providers that publish a statement about founders abroad, the one with the highest rating is Tailor Brands. Its LLC formation page links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens, though it states no eligibility rules or prices. LegalZoom says it gets the EIN without the need for a Social Security Number, on a page aimed at Australia. doola says it can help a non-resident without a US SSN, with its Starter plan at $297/yr. See the non-U.S. founders list and ZenBusiness vs doola.14, 15, 16, 17

More services kept for good

Tailor Brands Elite keeps 7 of the services we count, one more than ZenBusiness Premium at 6. It also has a trial item, bookkeeping, which moves to $39/month after its free period. Tailor Brands vs ZenBusiness lists both plans item by item.18

More business services under one account

Tailor Brands and LegalZoom each sell 9 of the 10 business service types we track. ZenBusiness sells 7, level with Bizee. The all-in-one list gives the full order.

Help for a first-time founder

On this need, no alternative includes more than ZenBusiness. It includes all three supports we count for first-time founders, and only Tailor Brands matches it (all three supports). The difference is in the coaching. ZenBusiness offers a one-on-one consultation on Premium only, while the Tailor Brands coaching program is "Included with any plan purchased". The first-time founders list shows each plan's supports.1, 19

Stated speed

No alternative states a shorter time than ZenBusiness's 1 business day on its compared plan. The difference shows at the no-fee level: Inc Authority's Free LLC states 24 hours, against Starter's 7-10 business days. Swyft Filings states 1 business day only on its Premium plan. The fastest filing list and Inc Authority vs ZenBusiness cover the rest.1, 8

Trustpilot score and overall rating

Inc Authority shows 4.9 / 5 against ZenBusiness's 4.8 / 5; Tailor Brands and Bizee match ZenBusiness. Inc Authority still rates 7.1, below ZenBusiness, because it scores 3.2 on services and dashboard against ZenBusiness's 7.6. On the full rating, Tailor Brands (8.7) and LegalZoom (8.1) are the two that rate above ZenBusiness.20, 21

Refund terms and email support

Inc Authority offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on initial online purchase, less state and third-party fees. InCorp's terms take refund requests made within 60 days of the issuance of services. Bizee orders are "generally refundable until payment is forwarded to any government entity". For written support, Northwest lists email among its channels (Phone, email, contact form), and email is the one ZenBusiness leaves out.22, 23, 24, 25

What happens to ZenBusiness services if you switch?

The LLC stays formed whoever filed it, so switching affects only the subscriptions still running. Pro renews at $199/yr and Premium at $299/yr until stopped, and the agent renews at $199/yr.1, 4

To replace ZenBusiness as registered agent, the LLC first files the change with its state naming the new agent. The agent service itself ends by contacting customer support by phone, under ZenBusiness's agent terms. ZenBusiness vs Swyft Filings, ZenBusiness vs LegalZoom and ZenBusiness vs Rocket Lawyer show what each replacement charges for the same items.6

ZenBusiness alternatives questions

What costs less than ZenBusiness over the first and second year?

Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up for non-U.S. citizens, and doola says it serves a non-resident without a US SSN. LegalZoom says it gets the EIN without the need for a Social Security Number. ZenBusiness's pages, as recorded, don't publish a statement either way.15, 16

Which alternatives rate higher than ZenBusiness?
