doola LLC formation review (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
doola sells three LLC plans, all billed yearly: Starter at $297/yr, Tax and Compliance at $1,999/yr and Business-in-a-Box at $2,999/yr. Every plan lists the EIN, an operating agreement, registered agent service and a U.S. business address, and doola states filing in 1 to 2 business days. The plans automatically renew at the rates then in effect, so doola publishes no fixed price for the second year. Our rating puts doola at 7.2 out of ten, based on Starter.1, 2
Where does doola land on our rating?
doola scores 7.2 out of ten. The three parts are customer satisfaction at 9, services and dashboard at 6.8, and plan value at 3.3.

Trustpilot: 4.5/5 2,082 reviews
Satisfaction is the strongest part and comes from a Trustpilot score of 4.5 (2,082 reviews). Plan value is the weakest. We compare Starter, which includes 4 of the services our method counts and states 1 to 2 business days, but it bills every year. Across the first and second year our figure is $594 before state fees, and that assumes the renewal stays at today's price, which doola's terms don't promise. Plan value includes a cost check over the first and second year, which counts a yearly plan's price twice and a one-time formation fee once. The weights and the tie rule are on the rating method page.3
Who are doola's plans built for?
doola's plans fit founders who live outside the U.S. and want the EIN, an agent and a U.S. address in one yearly price, and owners who want a provider to handle tax returns and bookkeeping.
doola's site speaks to founders abroad directly. It says doola can help "a non-resident without a US SSN", as well as U.S. citizens. Next to the EIN, agent and address, Starter lists "Guidance to open US Bank Account". Of the 12 providers we compare, the non-U.S. founders list shows which ones say on their own pages that they serve founders abroad.4, 5
The upper tiers fit a different reader. Tax and Compliance is for an owner who wants federal and state tax filing, a 1:1 tax consultation, transaction tracking and annual reports handled for them. Business-in-a-Box goes further into accounting with monthly financial statements, synced bookkeeping and taxes.1
Some readers fit poorly.
- Someone who wants to pay once and be done. Every doola plan renews each year, while several rivals charge a single formation fee.
- An owner who wants to phone support. doola doesn't publish a phone line; it lists tickets, chat and email.
- A U.S. owner who needs only the state filing. Starter's yearly price includes an address and bank guidance that such a buyer may not use; the doola alternatives page lists plans that cost less over the first and second year.
What does each doola plan add?
Starter is the formation plan. Tax and Compliance adds annual report filing, tax filing, transaction tracking, an expedited EIN and free dissolution. Business-in-a-Box adds monthly or quarterly closings and estimated quarterly taxes on top.

Starter
Starter lists the Employer Identification Number (EIN), the Operating Agreement, Registered Agent Service and a Virtual Mailing/Business Address. It also includes doola's AI Co-Founder assistant, which gives guidance on formation, taxes, EINs, e-commerce, with a smaller credit allowance than the upper tiers (Starter gets AI Co-Founder with 25 credits). Annual report filing sits only in the upper tiers: Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings. Starter customers get annual report reminders through the agent service instead.1, 6, 7
Tax and Compliance
This tier keeps all of Starter and adds Annual State Report Filing, in doola's words "the Tax and Compliance plan covers your annual state compliance filings". The state's own report fee is still yours to pay (state fees paid by customer). It also adds Business IRS Tax Filings, Track Your Transactions, Expedited EIN Processing (Only with Annual Billing) and Free Dissolution (Only with Annual Billing). The AI assistant gets more credits plus Co-Founder Actions.1, 6, 7
Business-in-a-Box
The top tier adds Monthly/Quarterly Closings and estimated quarterly taxes. doola's pricing page also shows a monthly figure for it ($329/mo), though its pricing FAQ says, "All plans are billed annually." Expedited EIN processing and free dissolution both carry the note "Only with Annual Billing".1, 2
doola doesn't publish a trial period for any plan item, so our record shows no item that starts a separate charge later. The AI credits renew each billing cycle. Every price, tier by tier, is on the doola pricing page.6
How do doola's renewals, refunds and cancellation work?
All three plans renew every year, and doola's terms say recurring fees automatically renew at the rates then in effect. The pricing page shows each plan's current yearly price but no separate renewal price.2
That leaves the second year open. A Starter customer who keeps the plan pays whatever doola then charges, plus any report fee or tax the state sets. The LLC cost guide sets those state charges next to the plan cost, and the cost calculator adds a state's filing fee.
Refunds are narrow. The terms say a refund may be possible if you cancel "before we send your application to a state or government agency". The same terms state "All payments are nonrefundable" and "We may deny any refund at our discretion". The homepage separately advertises "Flawless Formation or Your Money Back", and our record doesn't include the full terms of that guarantee.2
To leave, the terms say, "You may delete your account at any time, for any reason", or you can write to help@doola.com. Our record holds no separate cancellation process for the agent service. If doola is the LLC's registered agent, the LLC needs a new agent on file with the state before that service ends.2
Support works through tickets. doola's help page says the best route is to create a ticket, and it also runs a chat widget and offers email ("Email hello@doola.com for general support"). Our record lists no phone line.8
How fast does doola file an LLC?
doola states that it files a new LLC in 1 to 2 business days, the same figure on all three plans. That is doola's own handling time; the state reviews the filing afterwards.1
- Expedited EIN (IRS EIN application only, not state formation): +$300, ~5 to 8 weeks (vs ~9 to 12 weeks standard)
doola doesn't publish a paid rush option for the state filing itself. Its only published speed-up is for the EIN application with the IRS, at +$300, and the two upper tiers list Expedited EIN Processing (Only with Annual Billing). State review times differ widely; the LLC timeline guide explains them, and forming an LLC in Texas shows one state's options. Plans with shorter stated times are on the fastest filing list.1, 9
What does doola charge for a registered agent?
A registered agent is the person or company named on the state record to receive lawsuits and official notices for the LLC. doola lists one in all three plans, and its agent page says, "Registered Agent is free with doola’s Formation Service."10
doola lists its registered agent service at $297 per year. Every LLC needs a registered agent in its state; plans that include one say so above.
doola doesn't say how long the free agent lasts. Its agent page also says, "Signup with doola for just $297 per year," which is the same figure as the Starter price, and the page doesn't separate the two.10
Mail handling is digital first. doola says you can "Receive local document scans within the same day", but "Physical mail forwarding is not included in your base registered agent subscription" unless your plan says otherwise; its terms offer forwarding for an additional fee. Agent customers also get "Timely notifications for annual reports". doola's address goes in the agent field of the public filing, and the business address in every plan gives the LLC a U.S. address for other fields, though the state decides what it publishes. Plans that bundle an agent are on the registered agent included list.2, 10
How does doola compare with other services?
Two head-to-heads cover doola directly, one against ZenBusiness and one against LegalZoom, each set out fact by fact.
The ZenBusiness and doola comparison sets yearly plan billing against ZenBusiness's mix of one-time and yearly tiers, and the LegalZoom and doola comparison puts doola beside LegalZoom, which lists a one-time formation fee with a monthly plan that starts billing after a trial period.

doola questions
Does doola charge every year?
Yes. All three plans are yearly subscriptions that automatically renew at the rates then in effect. doola publishes the current price of each plan but no separate renewal price, so the second-year cost isn't fixed in advance.2
Can I form a U.S. LLC with doola if I don't live in the U.S.?
doola says it can help "a non-resident without a US SSN". Starter lists the EIN, a U.S. business address and "Guidance to open US Bank Account". Our cost figures for doola leave out the state filing fee, which the state fees table lists for each state.4, 5
Does doola file my annual report?
Only on Tax and Compliance and Business-in-a-Box, which list Annual State Report Filing; the state's report fee is still charged to you. Starter gets annual report reminders through the agent service but no filing.1
Does doola give refunds?
Its terms allow a possible refund if you cancel "before we send your application to a state or government agency". Otherwise they say "All payments are nonrefundable". The homepage advertises "Flawless Formation or Your Money Back", without the full terms in our record.2
Is doola's registered agent free?
doola says, "Registered Agent is free with doola’s Formation Service." All three plans list the agent service, but doola doesn't say how long it stays free.10
Can I call doola?
Our record lists no phone support. doola asks customers to create a ticket, and it also has chat and an email address for general support.8
