BizFilings LLC formation review (2026)
Facts checked October 15, 2026.
BizFilings provided three LLC plans from its checkout: Basic at $99, Core at $199 and All-Inclusive at $399, each a one-time fee before state fees. According to BizFilings, each of the three includes 3 months free Registered Agent Services, after which the agent costs $220/yr, and a separate package for owners outside the U.S. costs $389. On our rating BizFilings scores 6.8 out of ten, based on its Core plan.1, 2, 3
How does BizFilings score on our rating?
BizFilings rates 6.8 out of ten. Its customer satisfaction part is 9, services and dashboard 5.2, and plan value 3.8.

- Services and dashboard
- 5.2
- Plan value

Trustpilot: 4.5/5 186 reviews
Satisfaction is the strong part. It comes from a Trustpilot score of 4.5 / 5, gathered on a profile under the Wolters Kluwer site, with 186 reviews. That review count is smaller than most providers we compare.4
Plan value is the weak part. The compared plan, Core, keeps 1 of the services our method counts for good, states 3 to 4 business days (submitted), and costs $199 across the first and second year before state fees. All-Inclusive is faster and holds more, but its price sits above the cap our method sets for the compared plan. Services and dashboard sits in the middle: BizFilings sells 4 of the 10 business service types we track and gives agent customers an online account with 24/7 account access. Rocket Lawyer shares the same overall rating, and BizFilings comes first between them under our tie rule. The rating method sets out the weights.2
Who do BizFilings plans fit?
BizFilings plans fit founders who want a one-time fee and will handle annual reports themselves. They fit poorly anyone who wants a full year of agent service in the price, since the agent is free for 3 months free only.
Here is how each plan lines up with a reader, going only by the items BizFilings provided for it.
- Basic suits someone who needs the filing and a name check, can wait 7 to 10 business days (submitted), and will get an EIN alone or buy it from BizFilings at $79.1, 5
- Core suits someone who wants the EIN done for them and certified copies, with 3 to 4 business days (submitted).1
- All-Inclusive suits an owner on a deadline. It adds 1-day rush filing, a Certificate of Good Standing and Business license research, and states 1 business day (submitted).1
On the checkout BizFilings provided, the All-Inclusive card carries the badge "MOST POPULAR PLAN SAVE 40%", but no undiscounted price is shown, so the saving can't be checked against a regular price.1
Three kinds of reader may want another provider. First, anyone expecting annual reports filed as part of the plan: BizFilings sells its Managed Annual Report Service through a "Get a quote" form rather than a set fee, and its plans include none of the three supports we count for first-time founders. Second, anyone who wants an operating agreement written for them: BizFilings doesn't publish a stand-alone drafting service, only a sample agreement inside its $129 Compliance Kit & Seal. Third, owners outside the U.S. who have no Social Security number or ITIN, covered below. The BizFilings alternatives page sorts other providers by these reasons.6
What does each BizFilings plan add?
Core adds the EIN and certified copies to Basic. All-Inclusive adds rush filing, a certificate of good standing and business license research to Core. The registered agent months are the same on all three.
| Plan | Price | Billing | Processing | Included for good |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $99 | one-time | 7 to 10 business days (submitted) | None of the services we count |
| Core | $199 | one-time | 3 to 4 business days (submitted) | EIN |
| All-Inclusive | $399 | one-time | 1 business day (submitted) | EIN, Licenses and permits report |
| Foreign Business U.S. Incorporation Package (non-U.S. owners) | $389 | one-time | Not published | Legal document library |

The figures on these plans were provided by BizFilings through its checkout, on a page set up to "kickstart your LLC in Alaska". Our record holds no statement on whether the plan prices change from state to state.1
BizFilings' own product pages still name older tiers. Its Compliance Kit & Seal page, for example, says the kit is "included with our Standard and Complete Incorporation Service packages", and none of the three checkout plans uses those names. The kit costs $129 on its own and holds a sample operating agreement. BizFilings doesn't publish a stand-alone price for its Business License Research Package - price not published.7
What lasts only for a while
The registered agent is the one item every plan includes for a limited time. BizFilings gives the agent 3 months free, then bills $220/yr unless you cancel. Because the free period is shorter than a year, a Basic, Core or All-Inclusive buyer who keeps the agent pays for it inside the first year. The full charge by plan and year is on the BizFilings pricing page, and our package contents guide explains what each counted service is.2, 8
The package for owners outside the U.S.
The Foreign Business U.S. Incorporation Package costs $389 plus state fees. It lists an Apostille for proof of U.S. incorporation, International express shipping and a Compliance kit & official company seal, with Free Registered Agent Service for 6 months, after which the agent renews at $167/yr. Its processing time isn't published. The catch is the EIN. BizFilings' EIN service needs an SSN or ITIN; its page states "You must have an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) in order to apply for an EIN" and "BizFilings does not assist with form preparation or the obtainment of the ITIN." A founder without either number would need to get one elsewhere first. The non-U.S. founders list lists the providers whose own pages say they serve founders outside the U.S.3, 5
What renews, and how do refunds work?
No LLC plan renews. The registered agent does: it is on auto-pay, and BizFilings sends notice approximately a month before auto renewal. Paying ahead lowers the yearly cost: BizFilings lets you select two years of Registered Agent Service for $370 or three years for $489.2, 9
Refunds are written in fixed amounts. A cancelled formation order is refunded less a $70 processing fee, or $95 after preliminary name check. State and supplier fees are not returned, and agent cancellations get no pro-rata money back.9
Cancelling the agent can happen at any time, but BizFilings asks for "proof (in writing) that the company has a new registered agent on file with the state". In practice the LLC files a change of agent with the state before the BizFilings service ends.9
Annual reports stay the owner's job unless they buy more. Agent customers get reminders, and the BizComply monitoring tool is free with the agent service ($75/yr stand-alone without it). The Managed Annual Report Service files them for you at a quoted price. Our LLC cost guide shows how yearly state fees add to these.10
BizFilings lists support channels as Phone and chat (email via contact form), with hours of Mon-Fri 8:00 AM-6:00 PM Central. BizFilings is part of Wolters Kluwer.11, 12, 13
How fast does BizFilings file an LLC?
The times BizFilings provided are 1 business day (submitted) on All-Inclusive, 3 to 4 business days (submitted) on Core and 7 to 10 business days (submitted) on Basic. Each time is for BizFilings to submit the filing; the state's review comes after.1
- 1-day rush filing (All-Inclusive): included, submitted in 1 business day
- Rush Filing Service: price not published, 24 or 48 hours after state verification, in certain states only
There is also a separate Rush Filing Service that "secures your LLC's name and filed date in as little as 24 hours". It has no published price and runs only in listed states, which BizFilings splits into 24-hour and 48-hour states. The clock starts at state verification, and weekends don't count. BizFilings doesn't say whether the plans already include it.11
How long the state then takes is covered in the LLC timeline guide and on state pages such as forming an LLC in Texas. The fastest filing list orders every provider by stated speed.
How much is the BizFilings registered agent?
The BizFilings registered agent costs $220 for the first year when bought alone, and each of the three LLC plans includes it 3 months free. After the free months it renews at $220/yr.2, 8
BizFilings lists its registered agent service at $220 for the first year, renewing at $220/yr; 2 yrs $370; 3 yrs $489. Every LLC needs a registered agent in its state; plans that include one say so above.
A registered agent is the person or company named on the state record to receive lawsuits and official notices for the LLC. For legal papers, BizFilings says "we scan the documents to make them available to you in your secure Online Status Center account." For state mail such as tax and annual report notices, it says "We will log this mail in your company record and forward it to you."2
One BizFilings page gives a different price ("Registered Agent Service $230/year"). We record the price on the agent's own product page. Naming BizFilings as agent puts its address in the agent field, but the state may still publish the principal office or the organizer's name. The registered agent included list sets out how long each provider's plan covers the agent.2
How does BizFilings compare with other services?

BizFilings questions
Does BizFilings include a registered agent?
Each LLC plan includes the agent 3 months free. After that the service bills $220/yr and stays on auto-pay until you cancel with proof of a new agent. The package for owners outside the U.S. lists Free Registered Agent Service for 6 months instead.2, 3, 8
Does BizFilings file my annual report?
Not in any LLC plan. BizFilings sells a Managed Annual Report Service, and its page asks you to "Get a quote" instead of showing a price. Agent customers get reminders and the BizComply tool for free.6
Is the BizFilings All-Inclusive plan worth the higher price?
It adds 1-day rush filing, a certificate of good standing and business license research to Core, and its stated time is 1 business day (submitted). Whether that is worth the step up depends on how soon the LLC needs to exist. The BizFilings pricing page shows each plan's charge.1
Can I get a refund from BizFilings?
A cancelled formation order is refunded less a $70 processing fee, or $95 after preliminary name check. State fees are not refunded, and agent cancellations get no pro-rata refund.9
Can a non-U.S. founder use BizFilings?
Yes. BizFilings sells a package for owners outside the U.S. at $389 plus state fees. Its EIN service needs an SSN or ITIN, and BizFilings says it does not help obtain an ITIN.3
