Tailor Brands LLC formation review (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
Tailor Brands has three LLC plans: Lite at $0, Essential at $199/yr and Elite at $249/yr, each before the state filing fee. Lite is a one-time order with stated processing of 14 business days. Essential and Elite bill every year, state 1 business day and add annual report filing. No plan lists a registered agent; Tailor Brands provided a separate agent price of $199/year, which isn't on a public page. Tailor Brands scores 8.7 out of ten on our method, based on Elite.1, 2
Where does Tailor Brands land on our rating?
Tailor Brands scores 8.7 out of ten, which puts it first among the 12 providers we compare. Its parts are customer satisfaction at 9.6, services and dashboard at 9.2 and plan value at 5.5.

Trustpilot: 4.8/5 17,815 reviews
The satisfaction part rests on a Trustpilot score of 4.8 / 5, 17,815 reviews. The services part reflects how many business service types Tailor Brands sells: 9 of the 10 we track, the joint highest count in our records, plus an online dashboard.3
Plan value is its lowest part. Elite keeps 7 of the services our method counts for good, the most of any compared plan, and that count includes a legal document library that Tailor Brands provided as a plan item but its public plan cards don't list. Elite bills yearly, so the first and second years together cost $498 before state fees, and that combined cost is one of the three things the part weighs. The weights and tie rule are set out on the rating method page.
Which founders do the Tailor Brands plans suit?
The plans suit founders who want a quick filing plus annual report filing, an operating agreement and coaching in one yearly fee, and Lite suits those who only need the state filing and can wait for it.
Matched to the published plan contents, the three tiers line up like this.
- Lite is for someone who wants the formation itself at $0 plus the state's fee and is not in a hurry. Processing is stated as 14 business days. It includes the coaching platform and the sales and payments tools, and nothing for later state filings.1
- Essential is for an owner who wants Tailor Brands to file the yearly state report and set up an operating agreement, with the filing handled in 1 business day. It also adds the funding search and a $30 Amazon Gift Card.1, 4
- Elite is for someone who also wants a website, branding tools and a domain from the same account. The extra tools include DIY website/online store and 8 free logos.1
Some readers fit less well. A founder who wants a registered agent inside the plan price won't find one at any tier. A founder who prefers paying once will find that only Lite does that, and Lite drops the report filing and operating agreement. Founders outside the U.S. can use a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens linked from the LLC page, though the page states no eligibility rules or prices; the non-U.S. founders list shows which providers publish more.5
For first-time founders, Elite includes all three supports we count: a filed annual report, coaching from a person and AI guidance. That ties with ZenBusiness on the first-time founders list.
What do Lite, Essential and Elite each include?
Lite covers the filing, the coaching platform and sales and payments tools. Essential adds report filing, an operating agreement and the funding search, and Elite adds website, branding and domain tools on top of Essential.

The coaching program is listed as "Included with any plan purchased", and Tailor Brands describes it as a 12-week accelerator with a business trainer giving one-on-one guidance plus expert workshops. AI guidance comes from Navi; the homepage says "Every plan comes with Navi built in", and Navi tracks filing deadlines and suggests next steps.6, 7
The funding search matches grants, loans and tax credits to location, industry and stage. Tailor Brands lists it at "No extra cost with Essential and Elite plans", so Lite buyers don't get it.8
An EIN is the federal tax ID a bank usually asks for when the LLC opens an account. The plan cards don't list one. Tailor Brands sells an EIN filing service, with the price not published. Our EIN guide explains how to get one directly from the IRS.9
The table's legal document library for Essential and Elite comes from Tailor Brands directly; the public plan cards don't show it, and the legal documents product page doesn't tie it to a plan.
Trial items and free periods
Every tier carries bookkeeping and invoicing as a trial. The terms say the free trial expires after 30 days, and the charge after that is $39/month unless you cancel. Elite's domain is a 1-year free domain; Tailor Brands doesn't publish what the domain renews at. The bookkeeping trial doesn't count toward our rating. The Tailor Brands pricing page shows what each tier costs in the first and second years.1, 4
How do renewals, cancellation and refunds work?
Essential and Elite are priced per year, and the general terms turn on automatic renewal by default for subscriptions. Fees are non-refundable under the terms, with a service fee taken from any refund issued.
On renewal, the general terms say Tailor Brands has an "automatic renewal option by default for subscription-based services". The pricing page shows Essential at $199/yr and Elite at $249/yr, with no other renewal wording. Lite has no renewal of its own; only the bookkeeping trial, if kept, adds a monthly charge.1, 10
The terms add that "You can cancel your account at any given time by visiting your account settings." For the registered agent, cancelling means notifying Tailor Brands and completing its steps.11
Refunds are narrow. The terms state that "all fees are non-refundable", and where a refund is issued, Tailor Brands keeps a service fee of $29. The registered agent terms add one exception: if Tailor Brands ends the agent service itself, "we will refund any prepaid fees specifically related to the Registered Agent Services." Our guide to cancelling or switching a service covers the order of steps.10
Year two looks very different by tier. A Lite customer who drops the bookkeeping trial owes Tailor Brands nothing, though the state may still charge a report fee or tax. Essential and Elite customers pay the plan again, and the plan's annual compliance service files the report. Tailor Brands doesn't say whether that service pays the state's own report fee; every plan price is listed before state fees. The LLC cost guide sets these yearly charges next to state fees.
Support is by phone at 1-332-286-2770 or by chat.12
How long does Tailor Brands take to file an LLC?
Essential and Elite state 1 business day, which Tailor Brands labels "1 day expedited processing" and includes in the plan price. Lite states 14 business days, with no rush option published for it.1, 4
- 1 day expedited processing: Included in plan price, 1 business day
That stated time is the provider's handling only. The state then reviews the filing at its own pace, and some states sell a faster review for an extra fee. The LLC timeline guide and the fastest filing list show how stated times compare across providers; Inc Authority states 24 hours on its compared plan.
What does Tailor Brands charge for a registered agent?
Tailor Brands provided its registered agent price as $199/year and says it renews at the same price; neither figure appears on a public Tailor Brands page. The agent sits outside all three plans, and its page says it serves LLCs in all 50 states.2, 13
Tailor Brands lists its registered agent service at $199/year, renewing at $199/year (renews at the same price). Every LLC needs a registered agent in its state; plans that include one say so above.
A registered agent receives lawsuits and official state mail for the LLC at a street address in the state. Tailor Brands says, "We scan your documents and upload them to your business dashboard." Its explanatory copy also says the agent will send reminders and, "if instructed, they can even file your annual report."13
The agent's address replaces yours in the agent field of the filing, but the agent terms add a limit: "You must not designate or otherwise refer to the Registered Address as your business location in any public materials." For a public business address, Tailor Brands sells a separate Virtual Address product ("Keep your home address off public records with a professional business address"), with no published price. What else the state prints, such as the principal office or the organizer, depends on the state. Providers that bundle an agent into the formation price are on the registered agent included list.11, 13

Tailor Brands questions
Is the Tailor Brands Lite plan free?
Lite costs $0, but the state filing fee is charged on top and varies by state. Lite also starts a bookkeeping trial that bills $39/month once it ends unless you cancel. The cheapest LLC services list compares other no-cost plans.1, 4
Does Tailor Brands file my annual report?
Essential and Elite include "Annual compliance: mandatory report filing & updates" for as long as the plan renews. Lite does not. Tailor Brands doesn't publish a standalone price for report filing, and our annual report guide explains what the state asks for.1
Is a registered agent included with Essential or Elite?
No. None of the three plans lists one. The agent is sold separately, at $199/year with the same renewal price according to figures Tailor Brands provided, which aren't on a public page.2
Can I get a refund from Tailor Brands?
The terms say that "all fees are non-refundable." When a refund is made, a service fee of $29 comes out of it. The registered agent terms refund prepaid agent fees only when Tailor Brands ends that service.10
What does Elite cost in the second year?
Elite renews at $249/yr. Add the agent ($199/year, a price provided by Tailor Brands) if you bought it, bookkeeping at $39/month if you kept it, and any state report fee or tax. The cost calculator adds the state side.1, 2, 4
Does Tailor Brands help founders outside the U.S.?
Its LLC page links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens. Tailor Brands doesn't publish eligibility rules, prices or whether it can get an EIN without a Social Security number. The guide to LLCs for non-U.S. residents covers the general process.5
