Northwest Registered Agent LLC formation review (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 16, 2026.
Northwest Registered Agent publishes one LLC formation plan at $39 + state fees, a one-time fee with the state's charge added on top. Its formation service page lists the first year of registered agent service as free. After that the agent renews at $125 per year, and the business address in the plan is tied to the agent service. Northwest doesn't publish a processing time or a rush option, and annual report filing is a separate $100 + state fees service. On our rating it scores 6.9 out of ten.1, 2, 3
How does Northwest score on our rating?

Trustpilot: 4.1/5 306 reviews
See Northwest Registered Agent plans
The satisfaction part comes from a Trustpilot score of 4.1 (306 reviews). That review base is small next to most providers we compare, so a run of new reviews would move it faster.4
Plan value is the weak part, and the low price doesn't rescue it. The compared plan, Northwest LLC formation, costs $39 across the first and second year, which scores well on cost. But it keeps only 3 of the services our method counts for good, and its stated processing is not published. With no rush option either, the speed share earns nothing. The registered agent year doesn't count toward contents, because our method skips anything included for a limited time. The weights are on the rating method page.
Who does the Northwest plan fit?
The Northwest plan fits a founder who wants the state filing and a registered agent for a one-time fee and is happy to handle the EIN, deadlines and later filings without much bundled help.
Because there is only one tier, the fit question is about the reader, not the plan level. These are the facts that decide it.
- The upfront charge is $39 + state fees, billed once with no yearly plan fee.1
- The agent year is bundled, and the renewal price of $125 per year is lower than several rivals' standalone agent price.2
- The EIN isn't in the plan. Northwest gets one for $50 if you have a Social Security number.5
- Northwest's plan list names "Operating agreement or bylaws" and "Legal Form Templates", so the operating agreement comes with the filing.1
- Annual report filing costs extra each time.
The plan fits poorly for someone who wants a filing date they can plan around, since Northwest publishes neither a turnaround nor a rush fee. Northwest doesn't publish business coaching or an AI assistant, and its plan includes none of the three supports we count for first-time founders. The first-time founders list shows plans that include them.
Founders outside the U.S. get a partial answer. Our record has no verified Northwest statement that it forms LLCs for non-U.S. founders, but it sells a Foreign EIN service for people without a Social Security number at $200. The non-U.S. founders list names providers that publish such a statement.5
What does the Northwest LLC plan include?
The single plan covers the state filing, a registered agent for the first year, an operating agreement, legal form templates, deadline reminders and a business address tied to the agent service. Northwest also lists a free domain name, website, email address, and phone number.6

Three of those items count toward our rating as included for good: the operating agreement, the legal document library (its form templates) and the website, domain and branding group. The free phone line and brand protection Northwest lists don't map to a service type in our method, so they appear in the plan but not in the count.
Two items end with the agent year. The registered agent itself renews at $125 per year, and the business address is tied to it; Northwest's own wording is "We provide a free business address with Registered Agent Service". Drop the agent and the address goes with it.2, 7
Northwest sells more address products in 24 select states. Mail Forwarding is $20/month and a Virtual Office is $29 /month, and either one lifts the scan limit on ordinary mail. Prices, with the second-year view, are on the Northwest pricing page.7
What renews, and how do you cancel?
The $39 + state fees formation fee doesn't renew. What renews is the agent service at $125 per year, plus the annual report service whenever the state's report comes due.1, 2
The report service starts without a separate order. Northwest says that when you buy its agent service, "you'll automatically be enrolled in our renewal service". That service files the report for $100 + state fees, charged at filing, so a second-year bill can include both the agent renewal and a report filing, plus whatever the state charges for the report itself. A founder who prefers to file the state report alone has to opt out. Our record notes that a customer must cancel at least one business day before next charge date.3, 8
Cancelling works online. The terms say a customer may cancel through the account at any time, and "There are no fees to cancel". Refunds have a window: purchases become non-refundable after 90 days, and "All state filing fees are non-refundable." A founder who cancels the agent service still has to name a new agent with the state, which is a state filing, not a Northwest step. State pages such as forming an LLC in Texas describe that filing.8, 9
Support runs by phone, email and a contact form, and Northwest says "a real person picks up the phone or types out a response." Our record mentions no live chat. Its contact page gives a company address in Spokane, WA, without calling it a headquarters.10, 11
How fast does Northwest file an LLC?
Northwest doesn't publish a processing time for its LLC plan, and it doesn't publish a rush or expedite option. Our record shows no published fee for a faster handoff to the state.
Northwest Registered Agent doesn't publish a rush or expedite option.
The state's own review comes after any provider's handling. Some states sell their own expedite, which a founder may be able to request on the state filing regardless of the provider. The LLC timeline guide explains both stages, and the fastest filing list orders the plans that do state a time.
What does the Northwest registered agent cost and include?
The Northwest registered agent costs $125 per year on its own, and is bundled for the first year with formation. Northwest says it has offices in every state plus D.C. and Puerto Rico.2, 12
Northwest Registered Agent lists its registered agent service at $125 per year. Every LLC needs a registered agent in its state; plans that include one say so above.
A registered agent is the person or company named on the state record to receive lawsuits and official notices for the LLC. Northwest scans and uploads legal documents to the online account, with a cap; its terms describe a fee above the 15 per year limit. Ordinary business mail gets up to 5 docs per year scanned free. When a scan fails, the original can be sent on for a fee, within 30 days of original receipt. Scanned mail isn't kept long: our record notes "Mail destroyed 30 days after scanning".2, 13
On the address question, Northwest says "We list OUR business address on your public filings instead of yours." That is true of any commercial agent, since the agent field always shows the agent's own address. Other fields, such as the principal office or the organizer, may still be public, and that depends on the state. Plans that keep an agent past the first year are on the registered agent included list.2

Northwest Registered Agent questions
Does Northwest include a registered agent with LLC formation?
Northwest's formation service page lists agent service as free for the first year, then $125/yr after. Our record notes that this page is written for corporations and that the LLC page doesn't repeat the bundle, so the checkout summary is the place to confirm it.1
Does Northwest file my annual report?
It can, for a fee. Agent customers are enrolled in its report service automatically, which costs $100 + state fees and is charged at filing. Without that service, Northwest sends reminders only.3
How much is an EIN through Northwest?
Northwest charges $50 to get the EIN when the owner has a Social Security number. Without one, its Foreign EIN service is $200. Applying straight with the IRS is free; the IRS never charges a fee for an EIN, and our EIN guide covers how.5, 14
Can I get a refund from Northwest?
Northwest's terms make purchases non-refundable after 90 days, and state filing fees are never refunded. Cancelling costs nothing and is done from the online account.8
What does Northwest cost in the second year?
The formation fee doesn't repeat. A founder who keeps the agent pays $125 per year, and the automatic report service adds $100 + state fees in any year the state's report is filed. The cost calculator adds your state's fees.2, 3
What is Northwest's Trustpilot score?
Northwest shows 4.1 (306 reviews) on Trustpilot. That score is half of our rating, and with 306 reviews behind it, each new review moves it more than it would for a provider with a larger base.4
