Best LLC services in Colorado (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
Tailor Brands ranks first on our rating for a Colorado LLC, at 8.7, and its Elite plan totals $299 in year one with the $50 state fee. Inc Authority has the lowest totals here, $50 in the first year and $25 in the second, before its included agent renews at $249/year. Because Colorado's online filings take effect on payment, a service's own stated processing time is most of the wait.1, 2
How is the Colorado list of LLC services ordered?
Our rating decides the order, highest first. Where two providers share a rating, they appear in our editorial order: Tailor Brands, Bizee (formerly Incfile), ZenBusiness, then by name.
That tie rule applies twice on this list. Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness share 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer share 6.8. The rating blends customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, and plan value, and none of those parts changes from one state to another; how we rate sets out the weights.

Second year: the recurring Colorado report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.
Colorado is one of the states where both cost columns can be filled in. The first-year figure adds the $50 Articles of Organization fee to each compared plan. The second-year figure adds the $25 Periodic Report fee to the plan's renewal, if the plan has one. So most rows show $25 in year two, and the rows that run higher belong to plans billed every year: Tailor Brands at $274, ZenBusiness at $324, doola at $322 and Rocket Lawyer at $174. doola says its plan renews annually at rates then in effect without naming the renewal price, so that figure assumes today's price holds.1, 3
Neither column counts a registered agent that starts billing after a free period, or a trial item that turns into a monthly charge. Both are covered below.
Which Colorado LLC service fits which need?
The picks below come from the same published facts as the table, with Colorado's fees added where a category depends on cost. Each subsection names the fact that decides it.
- Lowest first-year total in Colorado: Inc Authority, Free LLC, $50 with the state fee.
- Lowest two-year total in Colorado: Inc Authority, Free LLC, $75 over two years with state fees. Full list
- Fastest filing: Tailor Brands, 1 business day stated on Elite. Full list
- Best for first-time founders: Tailor Brands, all three supports included in a plan (annual report filing, coaching, AI guidance). Full list
- Best all-in-one platform: Tailor Brands, sells 9 of the 10 business service types we track, with an online dashboard. Full list
- Best for non-U.S. founders: Tailor Brands, highest-rated provider whose own pages say it serves founders outside the U.S. Full list
Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.
Lowest cost in the first and second year
Inc Authority Free LLC charges nothing on top of the state, so its Colorado totals equal the $50 filing fee and then the $25 report fee. The agent it includes is free for the first year only and renews automatically at $249/year, which is far more than the state's own yearly charge. Its terms offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on the first online purchase, less state/third-party filing fees. The Inc Authority profile lists what the free plan leaves out.1, 2, 4
Northwest Registered Agent comes next on first-year total, at $89. Its included agent later renews at $125/yr. The list ordered by true cost ranks every provider nationally by plan cost with renewals counted.5
Fastest stated filing
Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium each state 1 business day, Inc Authority states 24 hours and doola states 1 to 2 business days. Where a state reviews each filing, those times are only the provider's half of the wait. Colorado works differently for online Articles. Online filings take effect immediately after payment, so here the provider's stated time is close to the full wait. The fastest services list ranks providers on that stated time alone.6
First-time founders
Three supports count for this category, each included in a plan for good: the yearly report filed for you, coaching from a person, and AI guidance. Tailor Brands includes all three supports, with mandatory report filing on Essential and Elite, its Business Coaching Program on any plan, and Navi (Every plan comes with Navi built in). ZenBusiness includes all three supports: filing of state-required annual reports on Pro and Premium, Personal Velo AI guidance on every plan, and a one-on-one consultation on Premium. doola includes two of the three supports: its AI Co-Founder assistant comes with every plan, and report filing only with the higher ones. For the plan compared here, its pages say Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings. In Colorado the filing these plans cover is the yearly Periodic Report. The first-time founders list shows every provider's count.7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
All-in-one platform
This category counts the business service types a provider sells, out of the 10 we track. Tailor Brands and LegalZoom sell 9, and Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness sell 7. The count includes services sold separately from any plan, so check the plan table for what a plan actually includes. See the all-in-one platforms list.
Registered agent in the plan
Colorado's agent rule leaves room to skip a paid service. An individual who is eighteen years of age or older and whose primary residence or usual place of business is in this state can serve, and an entity in good standing with a usual place of business in Colorado may serve as its own registered agent (C.R.S. § 7-90-701). An LLC with its own Colorado office can therefore list itself.14
For everyone else, the agent terms differ by provider.
- Bizee (formerly Incfile) includes the first year, then charges $149/year.15
- BizFilings includes 3 months free, then $220/yr.16, 17
- doola lists Registered Agent Service in Starter, which bills yearly.18
- Tailor Brands sells its agent separately at $199/year, and ZenBusiness offers 50% off the first year ($99) with a formation order.19, 20
The plans that include a registered agent are listed with their prices.
EIN in the plan
An EIN is the federal tax number the IRS issues at no charge. LegalZoom lists EIN (federal tax ID) in Managed Service, Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists Federal Tax ID (EIN) in Premium, and ZenBusiness, doola and BizFilings list one in their compared plans too (EIN, Employer Identification Number (EIN), Employer Identification Number). The EIN included list orders them by plan price.11, 18, 21, 22, 23
Founders outside the U.S.
doola says on its own pages that it can help a non-resident without a US SSN, and its Starter plan includes a US business address. Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens from its formation page without publishing eligibility terms. The non-U.S. founders list covers the rest.24, 25, 26
What does Colorado charge no matter who files?
Colorado charges $50 for the Articles of Organization and $25 for each yearly Periodic Report, whether you file or a service does. The totals on this page add both fees to every compared plan.1
- Formation filing fee: $50 (online only)
- Faster state processing: $150 additional for expedited paper filing (fulfilled within 3 business days); online filings are effective immediately; no expedite for curing delinquency
- Recurring report: due every year in the entity's Periodic Report month; can be filed two months before or two months after it without penalty, $25
- Optional name reservation: $25 for 120 days (renewable)
The state's rush option doesn't apply to new LLCs. Colorado lists expedited paper filing at $150, but the Articles are Online only (no paper form) and online filings are effective immediately. Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists Expedited Filing in Premium; in Colorado that can only speed up the provider's own preparation, since the state has nothing to expedite for online Articles.1, 22, 27
The cost a service can't remove is the yearly report. It is due in the LLC's Periodic Report month, and the state accepts it two months prior to the Periodic Report month or two months after without any penalty. A report filed after that window adds a $50 late filing penalty, and if it is still missing the LLC becomes delinquent and needs a $100 Statement Curing Delinquency to recover.1, 28
Who files the Colorado report, and what bills later?
Paying a service to file the Periodic Report on its own costs more than the report itself in Colorado. The state fee is $25, and each separate filing service named below charges more.1
Two compared plans include it. Tailor Brands Elite lists mandatory report filing, and ZenBusiness Premium lists filing of state-required annual reports, so for those two the cost sits inside a plan that already bills every year. Sold on its own, the filing costs $100 + state fees at Northwest Registered Agent, $99 + state filing fees at LegalZoom, and ZenBusiness's compliance service is sold separately at $199/year. Weigh those prices against the form itself. Its stated purpose is to let the LLC update the principal office address and registered agent information.7, 10, 28, 29, 30
Trial items are the other later charge. Tailor Brands Elite includes a bookkeeping trial that bills $39/month if kept, and LegalZoom lists that on Managed Service the Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. The LegalZoom pricing page and the Tailor Brands pricing page list each tier's later charges.21, 31
Can you form a Colorado LLC without a service?
Yes, and Colorado makes it quick. You file the Articles of Organization on the Secretary of State's website, pay the $50 fee, and the LLC exists once payment goes through, with no state review to wait for.1, 27
Doing it yourself leaves three jobs with you: choosing an agent (yourself, a Colorado resident you trust, or the LLC itself if it has a Colorado office), holding a name with a $25 reservation for 120 days if you aren't ready, and remembering the report each year. A service mainly adds preparation, an agent for a period, sometimes an EIN, and reminders. The Colorado formation guide covers each filing, and the cost calculator compares a plan's total with the state fee alone.32
Colorado LLC service questions
Is the Colorado filing fee included in a service's price?
No. Our totals treat the $50 state fee as separate for every compared plan, and price lines such as Inc Authority's say so ("Pay only state filing fees"). That is why Inc Authority's first-year total here is $50.1, 33
Which LLC service costs least in Colorado, counting year two?
Inc Authority Free LLC, at $50 in year one and $25 in year two, which are the state fees alone. Its included registered agent renews at $249/year after the first year unless cancelled, and that charge isn't in the totals.2
Does paying for expedited filing help in Colorado?
Not on the state side. Online Articles take effect as soon as the fee is paid, and the state's $150 rush fee is for paper filings. A service's rush option can only shorten its own preparation time.1
Will a formation service file my yearly Colorado report?
Some plans include it. Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium list annual report filing, while Northwest Registered Agent charges $100 + state fees per report. The state fee is $25, and the state requires the report to be filed online.1, 29
Do I need a paid registered agent in Colorado?
Not always. A Colorado resident who is eighteen years of age or older can serve, and an LLC with its own place of business in Colorado may serve as its own registered agent. A paid agent puts its address in the public agent field instead of yours.14
What does a Colorado LLC cost in year two with a service?
The $25 report fee plus the plan's renewal. That comes to $274 with Tailor Brands Elite and $324 with ZenBusiness Premium, while one-time plans add nothing. Agent renewals after a free period are extra.1
