Best LLC services in Kentucky (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

Tailor Brands ranks first on our rating, at 8.7, and its Elite plan totals $289 in year one and $264 in year two with the state's fees. Inc Authority has the lowest totals, $40 and then $15, which are the Kentucky fees and nothing else, but its registered agent bills $249/year from the second year. Kentucky's office says documents are usually processed the same day they are received, so the choice turns more on what a plan files for you each year than on speed.1, 2

How is the Kentucky list ordered, and what do the totals include?

Providers appear in order of our rating, highest first. Where two rate the same, they keep our editorial order: Tailor Brands, Bizee (formerly Incfile), ZenBusiness, then by name.

Kentucky's recurring state filing fee is a flat $15 for the annual report, which the second-year column adds. The first-year column is the $40 filing fee plus the compared plan. The second year is that report fee plus whatever the plan renews at. Two ties show up in the list: Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness both rate 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer both rate 6.8. The rating's three parts are customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, and plan value; how we rate gives the weights.3, 4

Second year: the recurring Kentucky report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.

Read the second-year column with three gaps in mind. It leaves out the Limited Liability Entity Tax (LLET), which has a minimum $175 per year and depends on how the LLC is taxed. It leaves out registered agent renewals after a free period. And it leaves out items that start billing when a trial ends. A one-time plan therefore shows only the $15 report fee in year two, even when its agent or a trial subscription starts charging. The ranking by plan cost across the first and second year puts every provider in that order.3, 5

Which service fits which Kentucky founder?

The picks below come from the published facts behind each category, applied to Kentucky's fees. Which one fits depends on whether you weigh price, included filings or support more heavily.

Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.

Lowest cost across the first and second year

Inc Authority Free LLC adds nothing to Kentucky's own fees: $40 in year one, $15 in year two. Its agent is free for the first year and the provider says it renews automatically each year at $249/year. From year two on, that renewal is the plan's largest cost, so check the cancellation steps on Inc Authority's pricing page before relying on the low total.1, 6

Northwest Registered Agent follows at $79 and then $15. Its plan includes the agent for the first year, renewing at $125/yr, which is below the Inc Authority renewal.7

Plans that renew every year

Several compared plans bill yearly, so their second-year totals carry the plan price again. Tailor Brands Elite is $264 in year two, ZenBusiness Premium is $314, and Rocket Lawyer Standard membership is $164. The first two list annual report filing among their plan items (mandatory report filing for Tailor Brands; state-required annual reports for ZenBusiness). doola Starter also bills yearly, but its terms say it renews annually at rates then in effect, so its second-year figure uses today's list price.8, 9, 10

Fastest stated filing

Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness each state 1 business day on the compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. Kentucky's own review is short: documents are usually processed the same day they are received, though it may take up to three business days. The state doesn't publish a paid expedite tier in the pages we checked. Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists Expedited Filing on Premium, and its listing doesn't say what that changes in Kentucky. See the fastest filing list for every provider's stated time.2, 11

First-time founders

We count three supports for a first-time founder: an annual report filed for you, business coaching from a person, and AI guidance. In Kentucky the first of these carries extra weight, since an LLC that misses the report deadline is dissolved rather than fined. Tailor Brands includes all three supports: report filing on Essential and Elite, its Business Coaching Program and Navi (Every plan comes with Navi built in). ZenBusiness includes all three supports, with the one-on-one consultation on Premium only and Personal Velo AI guidance on every plan. The first-time founders list ranks every provider on these supports.12, 13, 14

All-in-one platform

Of the 10 business service types we track, Tailor Brands sells 9 and ZenBusiness sells 7. The count covers everything a provider sells, add-ons included, so it measures range, not what a Kentucky plan includes. The all-in-one list has the full order.

Agent and EIN in the plan

A Kentucky LLC must keep an agent whose business address is the registered office (KRS 14A.4-010). Some compared plans include one, most of them for a limited time. Bizee (formerly Incfile) includes the agent free for the first year with any of its packages, then charges $149/year. BizFilings includes it free for 3 months, then $220/yr. doola lists Registered Agent Service in Starter. Tailor Brands sells its agent on its own at $199/year, and ZenBusiness offers 50% off the first year ($99) with formation.15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21

For the federal tax ID, ZenBusiness lists EIN in Premium, doola lists Employer Identification Number (EIN) in Starter, and LegalZoom lists EIN (federal tax ID) in Managed Service. The EIN included list and the registered agent included list cover the rest.14, 19, 22

Founders outside the U.S.

doola says it can help a non-resident without a US SSN, and its Starter plan includes Registered Agent Service. LegalZoom says on a page for founders abroad that it files the IRS application and delivers the EIN without the need for a Social Security Number. Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens but publishes no eligibility terms. The non-U.S. founders list compares them.19, 23, 24, 25

Which Kentucky costs stay the same with any service?

Every route pays the $40 filing fee and then the $15 annual report fee due June 30 each year. The totals on this page add both on top of each plan's price.3, 4

A service can file the report, but it can't change the deadline or the result of missing it. Kentucky lists no late fee; instead, domestic LLCs that miss June 30 are administratively dissolved. Coming back costs a $100 reinstatement penalty plus any delinquent filing fees, along with letters of good standing from the Department of Revenue and, for a profit company, the Division of Unemployment Insurance. Holding a name first is optional at $15 for 120 days.3, 4

The Limited Liability Entity Tax (LLET) sits outside every plan, with a minimum $175 per year under the tax statute, and none of the published plans we compare says it prepares or pays that tax. The Kentucky formation guide explains who owes it.5

Is paying a service to file the Kentucky report worth it?

With a state fee of $15, almost all of a report-filing charge is the service's own fee. The question is whether a missed deadline is a bigger risk to you than that fee.3

Published prices for report filing vary a lot. InCorp Services charges $89 + state fees, Rocket Lawyer charges $100 with Pro membership, Harbor Compliance charges $199 per state per year plus filing fees, and Swyft Filings sells ComplianceGuard $199/year, which starts with a 14-day free trial and then bills automatically. Plans that bundle the filing, such as Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium, fold it into the yearly renewal instead.26, 27, 28, 29

The report also puts people on the record. Each year it lists the names and addresses of members/managers, and a registered agent service only replaces the agent's address, never those names.3

Two trials can change a year-one bill. Tailor Brands Elite includes bookkeeping as a Free 30-day trial, and LegalZoom lists that its Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. The LegalZoom pricing page and the Tailor Brands pricing page list what each charges after the trial.22, 30

Can you form a Kentucky LLC without a service?

Yes. Kentucky takes the filing straight from owners. The Articles of Organization (Form KLC) can be filed online through FastTrack, by mail or in person, for the $40 fee, and the state says documents are usually processed the same day they are received.2, 4, 31

Doing it yourself means naming an agent with a Kentucky business address that matches the registered office, which can be you if you live and work in the state. It also means filing the annual report by the June 30 deadline every year without a reminder from anyone. The Kentucky step-by-step guide covers each filing, and the cost calculator shows what any plan adds over the state fees.3

Kentucky LLC service questions

Is the Kentucky filing fee included in any service's price?

No. The compared plan prices leave out the $40 Kentucky fee. The totals on this page already add it, so Inc Authority's first-year $40 is the state fee alone.4

Which service costs least for a Kentucky LLC in its first and second year?

Inc Authority Free LLC totals $40 and then $15, the same as filing yourself. Its agent then renews at $249/year. Northwest Registered Agent comes next at $79 and $15, with an agent renewing at $125/yr.1, 7

Will a service file my Kentucky annual report?

Some plans include it. Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium list annual report filing, and other providers sell it per filing, such as InCorp Services at $89 + state fees. The state fee of $15 is due either way.3, 26

Do I need a fast service if Kentucky reviews filings the same day?

Usually not for the state step, since Kentucky says documents are usually processed the same day they are received. A provider's stated time covers its own preparation, which can be longer than the state's review. The state doesn't publish a paid expedite option in the pages we checked.2

Does any LLC service pay the Kentucky LLET?

None of the compared plans says it does. The Limited Liability Entity Tax (LLET) has a minimum $175 per year and is owed under the tax statute, separately from the annual report. An accountant can say whether your LLC owes it or falls under an exemption.5

What happens if my service misses the Kentucky annual report?

The LLC carries the result, not the service. Kentucky lists no late fee, but domestic LLCs that miss June 30 are administratively dissolved, and reinstatement costs a $100 reinstatement penalty plus any delinquent filing fees. Check the provider's terms on missed filings before you rely on it.3, 4
