Best LLC services in Kansas (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 16, 2026.

Tailor Brands ranks first on our rating for a Kansas LLC (8.7), and its Elite plan totals $334 in year one with the $85 online filing fee. Inc Authority has the lowest first-year total, $85, which is the state fee by itself; its resident agent then renews at $249/year. Kansas reviews online filings within minutes, so a service mostly changes how much help you get, not how long the state takes.1, 2, 3

How are LLC services for Kansas ranked?

The table is ordered by our rating, highest first. Ties keep our editorial order, which puts Tailor Brands, Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness ahead of the rest and then runs by name.

Each first-year figure adds the $85 Kansas online fee to the plan we compare, so it is the amount a Kansas founder pays in the first year, before any trial item starts billing. The paper fee is $90; the table uses the online fee, the lower of the two.1

Two pairs share a score. Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness both sit at 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer both sit at 6.8. None of the rating's three parts (customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, plan value) changes from state to state; how we rate sets out the weights.

Ordered by our rating, highest first; ties in our editorial order. Totals add the Kansas state fees to each provider's compared plan.

Second year: the recurring Kansas report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.

Why does the second-year column say "Can't total" on every row? Kansas changed its fee rules effective February 27, 2026, and the Form ILC report form we found predates the February 27, 2026 fee rule changes. With no confirmed Information Report fee, we leave the total open instead of printing a figure that may be out of date.1, 4, 5

The plans alone can still be set side by side across the first and second year, before any Kansas fee. Tailor Brands Elite comes to $498, ZenBusiness Premium to $598, doola Starter to $594 and Swyft Filings Standard to $199. Those sums leave out agent renewals and trial items. The list ranked by cost across both years orders every provider that way.

Which Kansas LLC service fits which need?

The picks below each rest on one published fact, and the subsections explain how Kansas rules change what that fact is worth here.

Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.

Lowest first-year total in Kansas

Inc Authority Free LLC totals $85, the same as filing Form DL yourself. The year-one agent is part of that, and the agent service automatically renews each year at $249/year. If you change your mind, its terms offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on initial online purchase.2, 6, 7

Northwest Registered Agent comes next at $124, and its agent renews at $125/yr after the first year. The Inc Authority profile and the cheapest services list show what the low-price plans leave out.8

Fastest stated filing

Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness state 1 business day on their compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. In Kansas that preparation time is most of the wait, because the state's own review of an online filing takes minutes and ends with a certified copy printable immediately. A rush fee buys less here than in a state with a long state queue. The fastest services list ranks the stated times.3

First-time founders

We count three supports: an annual report filed for you, coaching from a person, and AI guidance. In Kansas the state report is the Information Report, due every other April, though the provider pages describe report filing in general terms without naming it.5

Tailor Brands includes all three supports. Its compared plan lists mandatory report filing, its Business Coaching Program comes with any plan, and its AI assistant, Navi, is built into every plan. ZenBusiness also includes all three supports: filing of state-required annual reports on its upper plans, Personal Velo AI guidance, and a one-on-one consultation on Premium only. doola reaches two of the three supports, pairing its AI Co-Founder assistant with Annual State Report Filing on plans above Starter. The first-time founders list covers every provider.9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

One provider for what comes after formation

Of the 10 business service types we track, Tailor Brands sells 9 and LegalZoom 9, while Bizee (formerly Incfile) sells 7 and ZenBusiness 7. Selling a service doesn't mean a plan includes it, so check the plan list before counting on one. The all-in-one platforms list orders the full set.

Resident agent included, and for how long

Kansas lets an LLC be its own resident agent under K.S.A. 17-7925, as long as its office is an address in Kansas where the resident agent may be regularly present. An owner with no Kansas location generally can't meet that, so the agent terms below weigh more for them.1, 16

Tailor Brands sells the agent on its own at $199/year, and ZenBusiness takes 50% off the first year ($99) when you form with it. See the plans that include a registered agent.22, 23

EIN in the plan

An EIN is the federal tax ID, and the IRS never charges a fee for an EIN, so a plan that includes one saves a form rather than a fee. ZenBusiness lists EIN in Premium, doola lists Employer Identification Number (EIN) in Starter, and LegalZoom lists EIN (federal tax ID) in Managed Service. The EIN included list has the rest.13, 21, 24, 25

Founders outside the U.S.

doola says it can help a non-resident without a US SSN, and its Starter plan adds a US business address. Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens but publishes no eligibility terms. Northwest Registered Agent charges $200 for an EIN without a Social Security number. Two Kansas points apply to anyone abroad. The LLC can't act as its own agent without a Kansas office, and the Information Report lists the name/address of each member owning 5% or more of capital, wherever that owner lives. The non-U.S. founders list goes further.4, 5, 26, 27, 28, 29

What does Kansas charge whoever files?

Kansas charges $85 to file Form DL online and $90 on paper, and no plan we compare includes that fee. Our Kansas record lists no paid rush option for formation.1, 6

The recurring cost is the Information Report, due April 15 in alternate years. Its fee isn't in our record yet because the form we found predates the new fee rules. What we can state is the cost of missing it. Once the three-month delinquency interval has passed, a business will forfeit. Reinstatement then runs a $35 filing fee, an $85 penalty fee and $110 per past-due information report, and no service plan makes those charges go away.5, 30

An LLC formed in another state that registers here pays $115, and Kansas accepts that filing by paper filing only. The online speed that makes services similar for domestic formation doesn't apply to it.31

Who files the Kansas report, and what do you pay for in off years?

Services price report filing in two ways, and the difference shows up in Kansas because the report comes every other year.

Some charge only when a report is filed. Northwest Registered Agent lists $100 + state fees, charged at filing, ZenBusiness sells report filing at $100 per report, InCorp Services lists $89 + state fees, and LegalZoom lists a one-time filing at $99 + state filing fees, bills once. Others bill by the year. Harbor Compliance charges $199 per state per year plus filing fees, and Swyft Filings plans include a 14-day trial of ComplianceGuard, then $199/year auto-charged unless cancelled. A yearly price still bills in the year Kansas asks for no report.32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37

Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium list report filing in a plan that renews yearly, alongside other items. Trial items bill on top of any plan. Tailor Brands' bookkeeping trial moves to $39/month, and for Managed Service, LegalZoom lists that its Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. The LegalZoom pricing page and the Tailor Brands profile list each trial.25, 38

Can you form a Kansas LLC without a service?

Yes. The online form costs $85 and clears within minutes, and the LLC can name itself as resident agent if it keeps a Kansas office, so an owner living in Kansas can do it all directly.1, 3

What you give up is the help around the filing: an agent if you live elsewhere, an EIN application, an operating agreement, and someone tracking the Information Report every other April. The Kansas formation guide covers each step and form, and the LLC cost calculator shows what a plan adds over the state fee.5

Kansas LLC service questions

Does any service include the Kansas filing fee?

No. Every plan we compare adds the $85 online fee on top. The first-year totals here already include it, which is why Inc Authority's $85 equals the fee alone.1

Will a service make a Kansas filing faster?

Only on its own side. Kansas processes online filings within minutes, so the wait is mostly the service's preparation time. Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness state 1 business day on their compared plans.3

Do I need a paid resident agent in Kansas?

Not always. Kansas law (K.S.A. 17-7925) lets the LLC itself serve, but the office must be an address in Kansas where the resident agent may be regularly present. An owner without a Kansas location usually needs a person or service, and the agent list above shows how long each plan covers one.1, 16

Which service files the Kansas report for me?

None of the provider pages we cite names the Kansas report, so confirm it with the service. Tailor Brands Elite lists mandatory report filing, ZenBusiness Premium lists filing of state-required annual reports, and Northwest Registered Agent sells report filing at $100 + state fees, charged at filing. Because the Information Report is due only every other year, per-filing pricing and yearly pricing work out differently over time.5, 9, 12, 32

What does a Kansas LLC cost in the second year?

We can't total it yet, because the Information Report fee isn't confirmed under the rules effective February 27, 2026. Before state fees, Tailor Brands Elite costs $498 and ZenBusiness Premium costs $598 across the first and second year, without agent renewals or trial items.1, 5

Is filing a Kansas LLC yourself enough?

For an owner with a Kansas address, often yes. The state fee is $85, approval comes within minutes, and the LLC can be its own agent. Owners elsewhere still need an agent with a Kansas office.1, 3
