Best LLC services in New York (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

Tailor Brands ranks first on our rating for a New York LLC, at 8.7 out of ten, and its Elite plan totals $449 in year one with the $200 state fee. Inc Authority has the lowest first-year total, $200, which is the state fee alone. No total includes New York's newspaper publication step, which every new LLC must complete within 120 days and which none of the compared plans' published details mention.1, 2

How are LLC services for New York ranked?

The list is ordered by our rating, highest first, and ties keep our editorial order. Each row adds New York's filing fee for the Articles of Organization (DOS-1336-f) to the plan we compare, so the totals are New York figures.2

Two pairs share a rating. Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness both sit at 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer both sit at 6.8; within each pair the editorial order applies. The rating has three parts (customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, and plan value), and none changes by state, so the order here matches the national one. How we rate sets out the weights.

Ordered by our rating, highest first; ties in our editorial order. Totals add the New York state fees to each provider's compared plan.

Second year: the recurring New York report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.

New York's recurring charge is the Biennial Statement fee of $9, so almost all of the year-two figure is the plan's own renewal. Plans billed once show $9; plans billed yearly carry their full price again. Tailor Brands Elite comes to $258 in year two, ZenBusiness Premium to $308, doola Starter to $306 and Rocket Lawyer Standard membership to $158.1

The second-year column also counts the statement fee as if it were yearly. New York actually collects it every other year, in the calendar month the articles of organization were filed. The list ranked by cost across both years orders every provider on plan cost before state fees.3

Which New York LLC service fits which need?

The cards below pick one provider per need from the published facts, and the notes under them explain how New York's rules change each pick. A pick is a fit for one need, not for every founder.

Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.

First-time founders

We count three supports a first-time owner may want: the recurring state report filed for you, business coaching from a person, and AI guidance. Tailor Brands includes all three supports in a plan. Its Essential and Elite plans list mandatory report filing, its coaching program has a business trainer giving one-on-one guidance, and its Navi assistant is built into every plan. ZenBusiness includes all three supports: report filing included in Pro and Premium, a free personalized AI guide on every plan, and an advisor consultation on Premium only.4, 5, 6, 7, 8

In New York the report in question is the Biennial Statement, which costs $9 and asks mainly for the address to which the Secretary of State mails process accepted for the LLC. With a fee that low, what a filing service mainly adds here is tracking the month it's due. Neither provider's plan page names the New York statement. The first-time founders list covers all providers.1, 9

Lowest first-year and second-year cost

Inc Authority Free LLC totals $200 in year one and $9 in year two before its agent renews, because the plan itself carries no service fee and the registered agent that comes with it is free for the first year, then renews at $249/year. New York doesn't require a registered agent (an LLC may designate a registered agent), so an owner may choose to cancel it. Its terms let you cancel your subscription at any time by phone or email, and its order page says to cancel within the first 12-months to avoid charges.10, 11, 12

Northwest Registered Agent has the next lowest first-year total, $239, and its included agent renews at $125/yr after year 1. See the Inc Authority profile for what its free plan leaves out, and the cheapest services list for the national order.13

Fastest stated filing

Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness each state 1 business day on their compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. Swyft Filings adds faster handling (Same-day processing) on its Premium plan, which isn't the plan we compare.14

New York's own clock is short for online filings, which return an email filing receipt within minutes. A service's speed claim covers its own preparation; the state's paid review tiers start at $25 within 24 hours. The fastest services list and the LLC timeline guide separate the two.2

One company for formation and what follows

Of the 10 business service types we track, Tailor Brands and LegalZoom each sell 9, while Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness each sell 7. Selling a service type doesn't mean the plan includes it, and many are add-ons. The all-in-one platforms list ranks providers by this count.

Founders outside the U.S.

doola says it can help a non-resident without a US SSN, and its Starter plan includes a US business address. LegalZoom lists EIN filing without the need for a Social Security Number, included in Pro and Premium. BizFilings sells a Foreign Business U.S. Incorporation package, and Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens, with no eligibility or pricing details stated. The non-U.S. founders list has the full order.15, 16, 17, 18, 19

A registered agent in the plan

Several plans bundle an agent for a limited time, and Bizee (formerly Incfile), for one, includes its agent free for the first year with any Bizee formation package. In New York that bundle carries less weight, because every LLC must designate the Secretary of State as its agent for service of process. An agent still gives a stable address for legal papers, and the registered agent included list shows how long each bundle lasts.20, 21

What does New York charge no matter who files?

New York charges the same $200 for the Articles and the same Certificate of Publication ($50) fee whether you file yourself or use a service. The newspaper charges for publication come on top, and the state doesn't publish them.1, 2

Publication has no full state price. The LLC must publish in two newspapers chosen by the county clerk for six consecutive weeks, then file the certificate within 120 days. The county clerk picks the papers, so the price depends on where the LLC's office is. None of the 12 providers' plan details that we collected mention arranging it, so ask any service whether it does and at what price.2

Paid state review is the other optional cost. New York charges per document, from $25 within 24 hours to $75 same day or $150 within 2 hours.2

Tax is separate from all of these. LLCs with New York-source income pay a yearly fee on Form IT-204-LL, starting at $25 for disregarded entities, and no formation plan removes it.22

What do New York plans leave out or bill later?

Trial items can raise the second-year cost of a New York plan, and the totals on this page leave them out.

The compared Swyft Filings plan includes a 14-day trial of ComplianceGuard, then $199/year auto-charged unless cancelled. LegalZoom lists its Managed Service with a note that its Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. Both charges start only if the trial isn't cancelled in time.23, 24

Rocket Lawyer works differently. Its plan is a yearly membership with an AI legal assistant, and report filing costs $100 per filing with a Pro membership, a higher tier than the one we compare. The LegalZoom pricing page and the Swyft Filings profile list each tier's later charges.25, 26

Is filing a New York LLC yourself enough?

It can be. Online filing returns an email filing receipt within minutes, and every LLC must designate the Secretary of State as its agent for service of process, so you don't have to find a registered agent before filing.2, 21

The work a service might save you is mostly after filing: lining up the newspapers, tracking the publication deadline and remembering the Biennial Statement. The New York formation guide walks through each step, and the cost calculator shows what a plan adds over the state fees.

New York LLC service questions

Does any New York LLC service include the publication cost?

None of the providers we compare states, in the plan details we collected, that its plan pays for the newspaper notices. The Certificate of Publication ($50) fee and the newspaper charges are extra in every total on this page. Ask a provider directly before you buy if you want it handled.2

Which service has the lowest cost for a New York LLC?

Inc Authority Free LLC has the lowest first-year total, $200, the same as the state fee. Its registered agent renews at $249/year after the free first year unless cancelled. Northwest Registered Agent is next at $239.10

Do I need a service that includes a registered agent in New York?

No. A New York LLC may designate a registered agent, and every LLC must designate the Secretary of State as its agent for service of process. A bundled agent can still be useful if you want a steady address for legal papers.11, 21

Will a service file my New York biennial statement?

Some plans list annual report filing, including Tailor Brands Elite and ZenBusiness Premium, but neither names the New York statement on its plan page. The statement costs $9 and is due in the calendar month the articles of organization were filed, every other year.1, 3

Can a service get my New York LLC approved faster?

Online filing already returns an email filing receipt within minutes. New York also sells paid review, charged per document, from $25 within 24 hours up to $150 within 2 hours. A service's stated speed covers its own work before submission.2

What does a New York LLC cost in the second year with a service?

Mostly the plan renewal, plus the $9 statement fee every other year and any tax fee on Form IT-204-LL. One-time plans show $9 in our second-year column, while Tailor Brands Elite shows $258.1, 22
