Best LLC services in Connecticut (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.

Tailor Brands ranks first on our rating for a Connecticut LLC (8.7 out of ten); its Elite plan comes to $369 in year one and $329 in year two with state fees. Inc Authority has the lowest first-year total here, $120, and its second year, $80, is the state fee alone, a figure several one-time plans share; its registered agent renews at $249/year after the free year. Connecticut charges $120 to form and $80 a year for the Annual Report, so both years can be totaled.1, 2, 3

How are Connecticut LLC services ranked?

Rows run from the highest rating to the lowest. Where two providers share a rating, our editorial order breaks the tie.

Each total starts from what Connecticut itself charges. Year one adds the $120 Certificate of Organization fee to the price of the plan we compare, and year two adds the $80 Annual Report fee to whatever that plan renews at. Trial items that start billing later are left out of both columns.2, 3

There are two ties on this list. Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness share 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer share 6.8. The rating has three parts, customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, and plan value, and none of them changes from state to state, so the order matches the national one. How we rate gives the weights.

Ordered by our rating, highest first; ties in our editorial order. Totals add the Connecticut state fees to each provider's compared plan.

Second year: the recurring Connecticut report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.

Connecticut's yearly report fee fills in the second-year column for every row. Plans that bill once show only the state's report fee in year two, while plans that renew each year show the renewal plus that fee. Tailor Brands Elite renews at $249/yr, so its second year is $329. ZenBusiness Premium renews at $299/yr for $379, and doola Starter shows $377 if it renews at the same price, though doola only says the plan renews annually at rates then in effect and doesn't state a renewal price. Some of those yearly plans keep items running, such as report filing on Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness, so a higher second-year figure can buy something a one-time plan does not. The list ranked by cost across both years orders every provider on plan cost across both years.4, 5, 6

Which Connecticut LLC service fits which need?

Each pick below rests on one published fact, named in the line. A provider that leads one need can trail on another, so read the need that fits your plans.

Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.

Lowest cost in Connecticut

Inc Authority Free LLC costs $120 in year one, exactly what filing alone costs, and $80 in year two. What the column leaves out is its registered agent: free for the first year, then $249/year, and the service renews automatically each year. Its refund terms are a 60-day money-back guarantee on initial online purchase.1, 7

Northwest Registered Agent is next on first-year total at $159, and its agent renews at $125/yr. Add each agent's renewal to year two and the order can flip, because Inc Authority's agent renewal is larger than Northwest Registered Agent's by more than their first-year gap. The Inc Authority profile and Northwest's pricing list what each plan leaves out.8

Fastest stated filing

Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness each state 1 business day on their compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. Those are the providers' own times to prepare and submit. Connecticut then reviews the filing on its own schedule, and it says most online filings are accepted automatically. The state's paid rush, $50 per transaction, is for online filings only, so a service that files on paper can't buy it. The fastest services list orders providers by stated time.9

First-time founders

We count three supports for a founder starting out: the annual report filed for you, business coaching from a person, and AI guidance. Tailor Brands includes all three supports in a plan, with mandatory report filing on Essential and Elite, its Business Coaching Program and an AI assistant built into every plan. ZenBusiness also includes all three supports, though its one-on-one advisor session is Premium only; Personal Velo AI guidance comes with every plan. doola includes two of the three supports in a plan, among them its AI Co-Founder assistant. For Connecticut the report support is the one to check, since the Annual Report comes due every year from the second year on. The first-time founders list shows each provider's count.4, 5, 10, 11, 12

One provider for what comes after formation

Of the 10 business service types we track, Tailor Brands and LegalZoom each sell 9, and Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness each sell 7. That count is about what a provider sells at any price, not what a plan includes, so the plan table is the place to check what comes with a plan. See the all-in-one platforms list.

Founders outside the U.S.

Tailor Brands is the highest-rated provider whose own pages address founders outside the U.S., through a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens linked from its formation page, with no eligibility details published. LegalZoom and doola also say they accept non-U.S. founders. Whoever forms the LLC, the statute's first two options for an agent read "Natural person who is a resident of this state" and "Corporation formed under the laws of this state", so a founder abroad will usually need a service or someone in the state. The non-U.S. founders list has the full order.13, 14

Agent included, and for how long

A Connecticut agent shall have a place of business in this state, and the state may dissolve the LLC by forfeiture if the agent lapses. Where a plan we compare includes an agent, the list below shows for how long.14, 15

Tailor Brands sells its agent on its own at $199/year, and ZenBusiness offers 50% off the first year ($99) with formation. Compare the rest on the registered agent included list.22, 23

What does Connecticut charge no matter who files?

Connecticut charges the same $120 to form and $80 for each Annual Report whether you file yourself or hire a service. Every total on this page adds both fees on top of the plan price.2, 3

The formation fee has one thing going for it. Connecticut lists it as including appointment of statutory agent, so naming the agent costs nothing extra when you form. Changing the agent later is a separate filing with its own fee, covered in the Connecticut formation guide.2

Expedite works differently here than in states with tiers. There is one option, $50 per transaction, and the state notes that "Expedited service is not applicable for filings by mail." Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists Expedited Filing in Premium without saying whether that pays Connecticut's fee. Ask any service whether it files online and who pays the state's rush charge.9, 24

No franchise tax adds to the state's bill. The Department of Revenue Services says the old Business Entity Tax ended under Public Act 19-117. Income tax is a separate question for an accountant.25

Who files the Connecticut annual report for you?

Plans differ on who files the yearly report, and Connecticut's timing changes how much a short trial is worth. The first report is due the year after formation, inside the window from January 1 to March 31 each year.2

Some plans include the filing while they stay active. Tailor Brands Elite lists mandatory report filing, and ZenBusiness Premium covers state-required annual reports. Neither plan's page says whether the $80 state fee is inside the price, so our totals add it on top.3, 4, 26

Others charge for it separately. Northwest Registered Agent charges $100 + state fees, InCorp Services charges $89 + state fees, and LegalZoom lists a one-time filing at $99 + state fees or a subscription that starts at $199/year. doola says "the Tax and Compliance plan covers your annual state compliance filings", and its pricing grid shows that Starter does not include ongoing compliance filings.27, 28, 29, 30

Trials need a closer look. Swyft Filings Standard includes a 14-day trial of ComplianceGuard, listed as one free annual report, then $199/year auto-charged unless cancelled. A trial that short ends long before a new Connecticut LLC's first report comes due, and the listing doesn't say whether the free report can still be used after a cancelled trial. ZenBusiness's lowest plan offers one optional free year of its compliance service, which raises the same timing question.26, 31, 32

Other trial items bill on their own. Tailor Brands Elite includes Bookkeeping (Free 30-day trial), and LegalZoom lists that its Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. The LegalZoom pricing page lists what each tier bills afterwards.33, 34

Is filing a Connecticut LLC yourself enough?

For many owners it is, because Connecticut takes filings straight from owners and recommends doing it online. You file the Certificate of Organization online, pay $120, and can add the $50 per transaction rush yourself. Paper filing is slower and requires a check or money order (no credit cards).2, 9, 35

What a service adds is preparation, sometimes an agent, and help with the report each year. A resident with a place of business here can be the agent. Living elsewhere changes that, and so does reinstatement: to reinstate online, the Business Agent must be a Connecticut resident, and the Certificate of Reinstatement costs $120. The Connecticut formation guide walks through each filing, and the cost calculator shows what a plan adds over the state fees.36

Connecticut LLC service questions

Does any LLC service include the Connecticut filing fee?

Not in our totals. We add the $120 state fee on top of every plan we compare, even plans with no service charge. That is why Inc Authority's first-year total, $120, matches the state fee exactly.2

What does a Connecticut LLC cost in year two with a service?

It is the $80 Annual Report fee plus any plan or agent renewal. One-time plans such as Inc Authority Free LLC show $80, while Tailor Brands Elite shows $329 because the plan renews. Agent renewals after a free period come on top of both.3

Can a service speed up a Connecticut filing?

Only on its own side, unless it pays the state's rush fee. Connecticut sells expedited review for $50 per transaction, and it applies to online filings only. Ask whether the service files online and whether that fee is in its price.9

Will a formation service file my Connecticut annual report?

Some will. Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness include report filing in their compared plans, while Northwest Registered Agent and InCorp Services charge a separate fee for it. The first report is due the year after formation, so check that a trial will still be running when it comes due.

Which service is cheapest for a Connecticut LLC?

Inc Authority has the lowest first-year total, $120, and its second year, $80, is the state fee alone, which several one-time plans match. Its agent renews at $249/year after the first year unless cancelled. Northwest Registered Agent follows on first-year total at $159.1

Do I need a Connecticut agent if I use a service?

Yes, every Connecticut LLC needs one under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 34-243n, with a place of business in the state. A service can act as the agent, sometimes for free at first and then for a yearly fee. You can also serve yourself if you are a Connecticut resident, and the state fees table compares what other states charge to form.14
