Best LLC services in Alaska (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
On our rating, Tailor Brands ranks first for an Alaska LLC at 8.7 out of ten, and its Elite plan totals $499 in year one with the $250 state fee, then $349 in year two. Inc Authority has the lowest first-year total, $250, and $100 in year two, though its free registered agent then renews at $249/year. The recurring Alaska charge in these totals is the $100 biennial report.1, 2, 3
How are Alaska LLC services ordered?
Our rating sets the order, from the highest score down. Where two providers share a score, they appear in editorial order: Tailor Brands, then Bizee (formerly Incfile), then ZenBusiness, then alphabetical.
For each provider, the first-year column is the plan we compare plus the $250 charge for the Articles of Organization, Domestic Limited Liability Company. In the second-year column, any plan renewal sits on top of the $100 biennial report fee, while trial items that start billing later and agent renewals after a free period are left out of both columns.1, 3

Second year: the recurring Alaska report fee as the state lists it (some states charge it every two years) plus the plan's renewal, if it renews. Registered agent renewals are extra unless the plan includes the agent for good.
Two ties show up in the table. Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness share 8.0, and BizFilings and Rocket Lawyer share 6.8. The score blends customer satisfaction, services and dashboard, and plan value, and none of those parts changes from one state to the next. How we rate gives the weights.
Year two splits the list. Plans that bill once, such as Bizee (formerly Incfile) Premium and Northwest Registered Agent Northwest LLC formation, show only the state's $100 in year two. Yearly plans carry their renewal as well, which is why Tailor Brands reaches $349, ZenBusiness $399 and doola $397. Counting only the plan and leaving out every state fee, the first and second year together come to $498 for Tailor Brands and $594 for doola. Every provider is sorted on that basis in the list ordered by cost across years one and two.3
Which Alaska LLC service suits which founder?
Each pick below follows from the fact its line names, and the notes under it cover where Alaska's rules change the answer.
- Lowest first-year total in Alaska: Inc Authority, Free LLC, $250 with the state fee.
- Lowest two-year total in Alaska: Inc Authority, Free LLC, $350 over two years with state fees. Full list
- Fastest filing: Tailor Brands, 1 business day stated on Elite. Full list
- Best for first-time founders: Tailor Brands, all three supports included in a plan (annual report filing, coaching, AI guidance). Full list
- Best all-in-one platform: Tailor Brands, sells 9 of the 10 business service types we track, with an online dashboard. Full list
- Best for non-U.S. founders: Tailor Brands, highest-rated provider whose own pages say it serves founders outside the U.S. Full list
Each line is decided by the published fact it names. First-time founder support counts an annual report filed for you, business coaching and AI guidance; the all-in-one count is the business service types a provider sells nationally.
Lowest cost in years one and two
Inc Authority Free LLC comes to $250 in year one, which is the Alaska filing fee and nothing else, and $100 in year two. Its agent is free for the first year with LLC formation, then renews at $249/year; that charge is missing from the second-year column. Its refund terms are a 60-day money-back guarantee on initial online purchase, less state/third-party filing fees. Northwest Registered Agent is next at $289 and $100; its included registered agent renews at $125/yr after year 1. Its first-year total is higher by less than the gap between the two agent renewals, so once those renewals are counted, Northwest Registered Agent costs less than Inc Authority across years one and two. The cheapest services list orders providers nationally by plan price.2, 4, 5, 6
Fastest stated filing
Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness each state 1 business day on their compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. The Division's review of a paper filing is normally 10-15 business days, and it runs longer during biennial report periods (April-June, October-December). The state doesn't publish a paid expedite option in the sources we cite, so a service's speed covers only its own step. The fastest filing list compares stated times, and the formation timeline guide explains the state's share.3
First-time founders
We count three supports for a new owner: the recurring state report filed for you, coaching from a person, and AI guidance. Tailor Brands includes all three supports, with mandatory report filing on its higher plans, its Business Coaching Program, and Navi (Every plan comes with Navi built in). ZenBusiness also includes all three supports: filing of state-required annual reports on Pro and Premium, Personal Velo AI guidance, and a one-on-one consultation on Premium. doola offers its AI Co-Founder assistant. For Alaska the question is which report a plan's filing covers, since the state has a free initial report and then a biennial one; the notes further down cover that. The first-time founders list has the full comparison.7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
One provider for later services
Of the 10 business service types we track, Tailor Brands and LegalZoom each sell 9, while Bizee (formerly Incfile) and ZenBusiness each sell 7. The all-in-one platforms list sorts providers by that count.
Owners who live outside Alaska
Alaska's agent rule (AS 10.50.055) allows an individual resident of this state whose business office is the same as the registered office, or a corporation authorized in the state whose office is the registered office. An owner in Seattle or abroad can't name themselves, so the agent has to be another Alaska resident or a qualifying corporation, such as an agent service. Plans that include one for a while are listed here.13
- Bizee (formerly Incfile) includes the agent free for the first year with any Bizee formation package, then charges $149/year.14, 15
- With Northwest Registered Agent, the included registered agent renews at $125/yr after year 1.6
- BizFilings includes agent service with formation, 3 months free.16
- doola lists Registered Agent Service in Starter, a plan that bills yearly.17
Tailor Brands sells its agent separately at $199/year, and ZenBusiness offers 50% off the first year ($99) of its agent service when you form with it. The registered agent included list sorts every such plan by price.18, 19
Founders outside the U.S.
Tailor Brands is the highest-rated provider whose pages address founders outside the U.S.; it links a separate sign-up flow for non-US citizens but publishes no eligibility details. LegalZoom says an LLC can be formed with no Social Security number, residency, or travel required, and doola says it can help a non-resident without a US SSN. The non-U.S. founders list sets out each provider's terms.20, 21, 22
What does Alaska charge whoever files?
Alaska's filing fee is $250 for every filer, service or not, and an optional name hold is $25 for 120 days. After that the state charges $100 for each biennial report and nothing for the initial report (no fee, filed online).1, 3, 23, 24
- Formation filing fee: $250
- Recurring report: due Biennial (every two years), due by January 2, $100
- Optional name reservation: $25 for 120 days
The report comes every other year, so an LLC pays that fee once per reporting cycle, due by January 2 in the year its schedule falls on. File late and the domestic fee rises to $137.50 on or after February 2. Report services that mention the state fee charge it on top; Northwest Registered Agent, for one, charges $100 + state fees for each report it files.24, 25, 26
Bizee (formerly Incfile) lists Expedited Filing in Premium. The state doesn't publish a paid rush tier in the sources we cite, so ask what that item does for an Alaska filing before counting on it.27
Who files the Alaska reports, and what bills after year one?
Alaska has two filings after formation, and plan wording doesn't always say which it covers. The initial report is due within 6 months of formation, with no fee, filed online; the biennial report follows.24
LegalZoom lists a Compliance Filings subscription that names the initial report directly, covering initial report filing and auto-filing of annual reports; it starts at $199/year. Tailor Brands Elite lists mandatory report filing, and ZenBusiness Premium lists state-required annual reports; neither names the Alaska initial report or biennial report. Swyft Filings includes a 14-day trial of ComplianceGuard, then $199/year auto-charged unless cancelled; that trial ends long before a first biennial report is due.7, 10, 28, 29
Trial items add to later bills too. Tailor Brands Elite lists Bookkeeping (Free 30-day trial), after which bookkeeping costs $39/month, and LegalZoom lists that the Business Advisor Plan auto-renews at $49/mo after 30 days. The LegalZoom pricing page and the Tailor Brands pricing page list what each tier bills after a trial.30, 31
Can you form an Alaska LLC without a service?
Yes. Alaska accepts the Articles straight from owners (Online or by U.S. mail, not by email), and the only required state charge at formation is the $250 fee.1
Doing it yourself puts three things on you: an Alaska agent that meets the resident or office rule, the initial report within its window, and the biennial report every other January. Owners who live in Alaska and keep a fixed office there can cover the agent role themselves. The Alaska formation guide walks through every filing, and the cost calculator shows what a plan adds over the state fee each year.
Alaska LLC service questions
Does any service include the Alaska filing fee in its price?
Not in the totals here. Our figures add the $250 state fee to every plan's price, so Inc Authority's $250 first year is that fee alone.1
Why does the second-year total include a state fee in Alaska?
Alaska charges $100 for each biennial report, and the schedule follows the formation year. Due in January of even years if the LLC first filed in an even year, odd years if odd. That puts the first report in the LLC's second year, so the column adds one fee to any plan renewal.3, 25
Can a service get an Alaska LLC approved faster?
Only on its own side. A service can prepare and submit quickly, but the Division's paper review is normally 10-15 business days, and the state doesn't publish a paid expedite in the sources we cite. The Division gives no time for online filings.3
Will a formation service file the Alaska initial report?
LegalZoom lists a Compliance Filings subscription that names initial report filing and starts at $199/year. Other plans list annual or state-required report filing without naming the Alaska initial report, so confirm before relying on it. The report itself is free to file (no fee, filed online).24, 28
Which Alaska LLC service costs least across the first and second year?
On the table's totals, Inc Authority Free LLC, at $250 in year one and $100 in year two with state fees. Its agent then renews at $249/year, which isn't in that total; counting agent renewals, Northwest Registered Agent comes out lower because its agent renews at a smaller price (included registered agent renews at $125/yr after year 1).2, 6
Do I need a service if I live outside Alaska?
You need an Alaska registered agent, and the rule allows an individual resident of this state whose business office is the same as the registered office or a corporation authorized in Alaska whose office is the registered office. A non-resident owner can't fill that role, so the agent is another Alaska resident, a paid agent service, or a plan that includes one. A name reservation, $25 for 120 days, is optional either way.13, 23
