doola alternatives for forming an LLC (2026)
Facts checked October 13 to 15, 2026.
doola's Starter plan costs $297/yr and renews every year at whatever doola then charges; our figure across the first and second year is $594. For a lower plan cost across the same period, Inc Authority's Free LLC comes to $0 and Swyft Filings Standard to $199, each with a one-time formation fee. Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness state 1 business day against doola's 1 to 2 business days, and Tailor Brands Elite includes 7 counted services for good against doola's 4. On founders abroad, doola's own page says it can help a non-resident without a U.S. Social Security number, and the rivals' statements on that point are compared below.1
Why do people look for a doola alternative?
The reasons below come from doola's published terms. Every plan bills each year, no renewal price is published, refunds are narrow and support runs through tickets.
Every plan renews
doola's three plans automatically renew at the rates then in effect. Even Starter, the formation plan, is a subscription. A founder who wants the LLC filed and nothing billed again has to cancel, and doola doesn't say whether the agent and business address continue after that. The doola pricing page sets out each tier's yearly charge.2
Unknown second-year price
Because recurring fees automatically renew at the rates then in effect, the second-year cost can't be checked at signup. One-time plans put a fixed figure on the page instead.2
Refunds tied to the filing date
doola's terms allow a possible refund if you cancel "before we send your application to a state or government agency". They also state "All payments are nonrefundable".2
Support without a phone line
doola directs customers to create a ticket, with chat and email beside it. Our record lists no phone number.3
Reviews
doola holds 4.5 on Trustpilot from 2,082 reviews. Several of the 12 providers we compare show a higher score.4
How do the doola alternatives compare?
doola is listed first, followed by the other providers in order of our rating, with ties in our editorial order. Each row shows that provider's fullest plan at or below the price cap set out in how we rate.

On our rating doola lands between Swyft Filings and Inc Authority, held back by plan value rather than reviews: its plan value part is 3.3 against customer satisfaction at 9.
The cost column for the first and second year counts plan fees only, and doola's figure assumes today's price at renewal. For doola that one fee already covers the agent and an address; for several rivals the agent is a separate yearly line after the first year. Add the state's fee with the LLC cost calculator or look it up in the state fees table.

A single charge instead of a yearly plan
Bizee Premium comes to $299 across the first and second year, with renewal listed as "None (one-time)", and Swyft Filings Standard costs $199, also "None (one-time)". Neither bills again for the formation itself. Bizee's packages come with "one year of Registered Agent Service for free", after which Bizee lists the agent "an ongoing annual fee of just $149" if kept. Swyft Filings' FAQ adds that trials bundled in packages (ComplianceGuard, Legal Suite, mailbox) are separate subscriptions, so the trials in its plans can lead to later charges.5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Lower plan cost in the first and second year
Inc Authority's Free LLC is $0 for the plan and includes a year of agent service, after which the agent renews at $249/yr. Northwest charges $39 + state fees with a year of agent service, then $125/yr. InCorp's plan comes to $99 over the same span. doola's yearly price covers an agent and an address in both years, so the gap narrows once a rival's agent renewal is added. The lowest true cost list compares first-year totals with a state fee, an agent and an EIN included.10, 11
Faster stated filing
Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness each state 1 business day on their compared plans, and Inc Authority states 24 hours. Swyft Filings states 1 business day on its Premium tier. doola states 1 to 2 business days and doesn't publish a rush option for the state filing. The fastest filing list and the LLC timeline guide separate provider handling from state review.6
More services kept for good
Against doola's 4, the Tailor Brands Elite plan has 7 for good, ZenBusiness Premium 6 and Bizee Premium 5. Tailor Brands Elite also bills yearly, at $249/yr. The package contents guide defines each counted service.12
More support for a first-time founder
doola includes two of the three supports we count, with its AI Co-Founder on every plan and annual report filing on the upper tiers. Tailor Brands includes all three supports, among them its Business Coaching Program with a person, and ZenBusiness also includes all three supports, with a one-on-one consultation on Premium. The first-time founders list has the full order.13, 14
More business services from one company
doola sells 6 of the 10 business service types we track. Tailor Brands and LegalZoom each sell 9, and Bizee and ZenBusiness 7. The all-in-one platforms list ranks them.
A phone line and different refund terms
Tailor Brands takes calls and chat ("by phone or chat"), and Inc Authority, Swyft Filings and InCorp also list phone support. On refunds, Inc Authority offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on initial online purchase, InCorp says all refund requests must be made within sixty (60) days of the issuance of services, and Bizee orders are "generally refundable until payment is forwarded to any government entity". Each provider's full terms set the exact conditions.15, 16, 17, 18
A higher Trustpilot score
Inc Authority shows 4.9 / 5, the highest Trustpilot score in the table, and the list above gives each rival's score beside doola's 4.5. Trustpilot is half of our rating, so a higher score alone doesn't set the order: Inc Authority, at 7.1, sits just below doola at 7.2.4, 19
Founders outside the United States
doola's own statement here is direct. It says it can help "a non-resident without a US SSN" and lists the EIN, agent and a U.S. address in Starter. Tailor Brands, which rates 8.7, links a separate sign-up for founders who aren't U.S. citizens from its LLC page ("Not a US-Citizen? Click Here"). LegalZoom says it forms LLCs "with no Social Security number, residency, or travel required", Swyft Filings states "A non-US citizen can legally form an LLC in the United States", and Northwest sells a foreign EIN service for $200. The non-U.S. founders list orders them by our rating.7, 20, 21, 22, 23
What should you check before leaving doola?
Your LLC stays registered with the state whoever filed it. What ends is the yearly plan and everything bundled in it.
doola says, "Registered Agent is free with doola’s Formation Service", and the agent comes inside the plan. The usual order is to name a new registered agent with the state first and close the doola account after; the terms allow closing at any time, or by writing to help@doola.com. If the LLC's state records or bank use doola's business address, those need a new address as well.2, 24

doola alternatives questions
Is there a cheaper alternative to doola?
On plan cost across the first and second year, yes. Inc Authority's Free LLC is $0 and Northwest's plan is $39 + state fees, both with a first year of agent service, against $594 for doola Starter. Each rival's agent then renews for a fee, and the state's filing fee is a separate cost in every case.11
Which doola alternative charges only once?
Bizee Premium at $299 and Swyft Filings Standard at $199 both list no renewal for the formation fee. Swyft says trials bundled in packages (ComplianceGuard, Legal Suite, mailbox) are separate subscriptions, and any agent service kept after a free period bills separately.6, 7
Is doola a good fit for non-U.S. founders compared with others?
doola states plainly that it can help "a non-resident without a US SSN", and Starter bundles the EIN, an agent and a U.S. address. LegalZoom says it forms LLCs "with no Social Security number, residency, or travel required", Tailor Brands links a separate sign-up for non-U.S. citizens, and Northwest sells a foreign EIN service at $200.20, 22, 23
Which alternative to doola files fastest?
Tailor Brands and ZenBusiness state 1 business day on their compared plans and Inc Authority states 24 hours, against doola's 1 to 2 business days. The state's review time comes on top in every case.
