Northwest Registered Agent vs InCorp Services: LLC formation compared (2026)

Facts checked October 13 to 14, 2026.

InCorp rates 7.0 and Northwest Registered Agent 6.9 on our rating, so InCorp sits just ahead. Northwest charges less to file, $39 + state fees against InCorp's $99 plus state fees. Northwest's corporation page calls its price "a total that includes one year of registered agent service", though its LLC page doesn't say the agent is included. InCorp publishes a turnaround of 1 to 2 business days before state submission and sells rush handling, where Northwest publishes neither.1, 2, 3, 4

How do Northwest and InCorp line up?

Each company sells a single LLC formation plan, so the table compares one plan against one. Below the plan rows sit the agent price, annual report service, cancelling and refund terms.

Auto-renewal, cancelling and refunds are as each provider states them for its registered agent and subscription services.

Neither price includes what your state charges to accept the filing. The state filing fees page lists every state, and the cost calculator adds that fee to a plan. To set these two against the other providers we cover, open every plan in one table.

What separates Northwest from InCorp?

Price, the agent bundle and published speed separate them most. The summary below names the winner on each fact, and the sections after it explain the terms behind those lines.

Northwest's plan record, drawn from its incorporation service and LLC pages, lists the agent year, an operating agreement, legal form templates, a business address, and a free domain, website and email. On our count it keeps 3 services for good, since the agent year is free only once and the address lasts only while the agent service does.

InCorp's plan prepares the Articles of Organization, checks the business name and comes with basic operating agreement templates, per InCorp's own comparison article. It keeps 1 counted service for good. The agent is a separate purchase.4

What does each cost once the first year ends?

Before state fees, Northwest LLC formation comes to $39 across the first and second year and InCorp's LLC Formation Service to $99. Those totals cover the plan fee only. They leave out the registered agent, and Northwest's agent renewal in year two is not in its figure.

Every LLC needs a registered agent, the company or person who accepts legal papers for it in the state. Northwest's incorporation service page lists the first agent year as free, then $125/yr; its LLC page doesn't repeat the offer. With InCorp the agent is $129/year from the start. Where Northwest's free year applies, InCorp costs more in year one on both the plan and the agent. In year two the two agent prices sit close together.1, 5

InCorp says its agent price has increased exactly once since 1998. Its terms still allow it to charge the then current registered agent service fee, so the figure isn't locked. Northwest's renewal is stated as a flat yearly price in the plan listing.6

Our LLC cost guide covers the state's yearly charges, which apply with either one.

Which company states a filing time?

InCorp does and Northwest doesn't. InCorp's comparison article says it handles orders in 1 to 2 business days before state submission. The same article gives the total with the state's review included: Standard processing takes 7 to 15 business days.4

For a faster start, InCorp's fee page lists an expedited service fee, described as "Expedited processing by InCorp", and a separate rush fee. The side-by-side table above shows both prices, and both are InCorp's own charges. Any state expedite fee is charged in addition.7

Northwest publishes no processing time and no rush option in our records, which leaves its speed listed as not published. The state's own review comes after either provider's step. The LLC timeline guide breaks down that wait.

Who handles the annual report?

Neither formation plan files the report for you. Both sell it as an add-on, and they differ on price and on how you get signed up.

Northwest's annual report service costs $100 + state fees, charged at filing. For agent customers, its page says, "you'll automatically be enrolled in our renewal service." That means a charge each time a report is filed unless you opt out.8

InCorp's report filing costs $89 + state fees and is bought separately. Its agent service adds a compliance calendar with email reminders before anything comes due, kept in its Entity Management System (EMS). Northwest's plan lists annual report reminders as well.6, 9

The EIN, the federal tax ID number banks ask for, is extra at both: $50 at Northwest with a Social Security number, $69 at InCorp.10, 11

How hard is it to cancel or get a refund?

Northwest sets fewer conditions on leaving. You can cancel from the online account at any point. Its terms add, "There are no fees to cancel." For services on its yearly auto-pay, the cancellation has to land at least one business day before the next charge date.12, 13

InCorp's agent service keeps running until you meet one of its cancellation conditions, such as dissolving the company or naming a new agent with the state. Until then, you continue to incur fees under its terms.14

Refund windows differ too. Northwest says purchases are non-refundable after 90 days. InCorp takes refund requests within 60 days of issuance of services, and its terms add that fees and charges with regard to discounted services are nonrefundable.13, 14

Which reader fits each one?

Each line below pairs one reader need with the published fact that settles it, so read them as matches rather than judgments of quality.

On the first-time founder supports we count, the two tie. Northwest's plan includes none of the three supports, and InCorp's plan is the same, since each sells annual report filing only as an add-on. Neither publishes business coaching or AI guidance.

The full records are on the Northwest review, the InCorp review, Northwest pricing and InCorp pricing. Other options appear on alternatives to Northwest and alternatives to InCorp.

Northwest and InCorp questions

Is Northwest cheaper than InCorp?

Yes for the formation fee: $39 + state fees against $99, both before the state fee. Northwest's incorporation service page also lists a free first agent year, which InCorp sells for $129/year; Northwest's LLC page doesn't mention it. From year two the agent prices are close, $125/yr at Northwest and $129/year at InCorp.1, 2, 5

Why does InCorp rate a little higher?

The three parts of our rating split between them. InCorp scores 9.4 on satisfaction against 8.2 for Northwest, and 4.9 on plan value against 3.7. Northwest leads services and dashboard, 6.8 to 4.4. The weights are explained on how we rate.

Does either one give legal advice?

InCorp says no: it is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. Northwest supplies an operating agreement and legal form templates, but our records hold no Northwest statement either way about legal services.20

How do they handle mail sent to the registered agent?

InCorp scans legal documents and delivers them the same day they arrive. Northwest scans legal papers into your account, scans ordinary business mail up to 5 docs per year for free, and its terms set a 15 per year limit on legal documents before a fee may apply.6, 21

Which has more customer reviews?

Northwest's Trustpilot profile shows 306 reviews and InCorp's shows 95 reviews. A small review count moves faster when new reviews arrive, so both scores can shift.15, 16
